I bought this for an elderly couple that I live with. They were using old fashioned ice trays, and he was having trouble refilling and stacking them in the freezer. I had brought this to their attention some time ago, and they of course said, "nawww.. We don't neeed that!" Well? I got it for them anyway, and it is absolutely a blessing! 1. Shipment was very fast. 2. It was packed, and received well. 3. It took literally 3 minutes to set up. A few minutes after I added water to the tank, it began to do its thing. We all had fun watching in amazement how it would fill up the tray (2 sizes available) and dump them into its bin as if some robot was inside. The ice cubes are soft enough for her to sit and chew on them all day, as they don't get as cold as regular freezer cubes. It also has to do with the shape. They dissolve almost immediately in water or soda etc. but leave it nice and cold. It's good for about 3 to 4 people to get a fair amount of ice for their drink, and it instantly starts up the process of making more. It's very sparing on the water, so we have to maybe fill it once a day, but again.... It is used CONSTANTLY. It's quiet, it's easy for anyone to use, and it works fast. We have freed up a large amount of space in the freezer, and I don't have to worry about any of them falling on ice or water that spills on the floor. I would wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone's office, or home. You WILL find a need for it! It doesn't produce a huge amount, but it produces enough, and fast enough.

This works great , if you dont have a fridge I've maker , or need additional ice its worth it. Makes ice quick no need to buy bags from the store

Original review: I just got home and opened this and am SO disappointed at the color. I paid EXTRA and waited LONGER for shipment only to find that it's NOT silver stainless steel. It's enough of a tint of aqua / blue that I thought it had a blue film on it but it's not - it's the color of the appliance. UPDATE: It IS a blue film - but it's so integrated that you would never know it. The company has now updated their product description on Amazon to explain that it is a protective film that must be peeled off. I have not taken it off yet as I'm still testing the product. So far it's a nice device but a little loud for me - not the sound of ice dropping but the whirring of the fan. With all the fans and air conditioners running in this heat it blends in - but once the season changes it will be running louder than my fridge. I will note a few things that others have posted: 1) the first batch of ice is 'weak' as the compressor has to come to temperature. 2) you DO need to remove the ice rather quickly and get it to your freezer and it IS quite wet which makes it clump together once in the colder temps of the freezer. To fix this I'm storing ice in a large Ziploc bag which I can bang on the counter easily to break it up as I add batches. 3) it was nice to leave it for a nap and wake up to a bunch of ice but if you left it too long it would just melt and regenerate. 4) I don't know if I could stand it running 24 hours a day but one person mentioned that helps the machine last longer. I would love to know what customer support says on that there's nothing in the booklet about it. 5) you do need to keep it pulled away from side and back walls - there are fans on both sides and an air Intake on the back. Keep this in mind. 6) the plug in the bottom (for draining during cleaning) is a little flimsy and feels like cheap plastic that could easily break. It's awkward blindly twisting it back in as you can't see what you're doing - and hoping you secured it before pouring more water in. 3 stars with it's limitations, watery ice and whirring sound that I wish were quieter. Wish they insulated the top just a little more to keep the ice from melting longer. But overall nice little machine. Will update rating and post if anything noteworthy changes... 8/7/24 Great size. Smaller footprint, lighter weight and quieter fan than the 'upgraded one'. Adorable little machine. Hope it lasts.

This product was okay. The cycles to make small or large ice cubes seemed long but I enjoyed the ice. It was easy to use and the noise level was acceptable

At first, I was impressed with this ice maker. It was easy to set up and reasonably priced. I wished it produced more than 9 ice cubes at a time and they were smaller cubes than I expected. The ice seemed to stay solid longer than I expected. I never transported it anywhere. But this past week it started making strange noises like it was going to die. It was emitting a lot of heat from the side vents. After stopping several times with all the ice melting, it is done. It will not produce anymore ice or even turn on. I am very disappointed. This turned out to be a waste of money. Only working for 5 months is completely unacceptable.

Best ice maker I’ve had to date

I was tired of using treys for our ice and wanted a more self sufficient solution. I liked the price range, reviews, and shape of the ice cubes. The first one received didn't work at all. I chatted with customer service and they quickly sent a replacement. The second one works and I've had it for a couple months now. It fits nicely on my counter without taking up too much space. It's a little noisy but not distracting. The shape of the ice is nice because it fits in my SodeStream bottles (narrow neck). It's easy to set up and use. However, the ice comes out wet. The instructions say to put in the freezer right away to avoid melting. I have taken them straight from being dispensed and put in the freezer, but no matter what they come out wet and eventually created giant blocks of ice. I also only use filtered water. But I noticed recently it's leaving brown marks where the water filters back into the reservoir. Not sure where that's coming from.
