The bed is functional and the best way to make our space work! When it was being assembled, two pieces were damaged and the company sent replacements with no issues!!! Customer service is exceptional! Special thanks to Andrea Kac who was super responsive and resolution-oriented.

I have more confidence in IKEA product than this. It's all particle board and if you aren't careful, you could easily dent, scratch or crack a panel without much effort. It does the trick, but not a product I would buy again. Some of the holes don't line up, and 4 panels didn't have any identifying stickers on them so it was a lucky guess and process of elimination that helped get this project done. Took about 4.5 hours with two ppl., to put it together. A little advise...get a small tube of clear liquid nails to help secure the panels a bit and loctite for the screws.

Unfortunately, the materials are extremely poor quality, and the unit completely failed during assembly. It was assembled by a professional, who was also surprised by how weak the materials were considering the heavy structure. The panels are far too thin to safely support the weight and pressure from the pistons. Damage occurred during assembly — the frame was already secured to the wall, but when lowering the bed to install the top decorative panel that goes across the upper section, everything started to fail. The pistons put so much pressure on the thin panels that the structure began to crack and pull apart. The pistons were so strong that they caused the left side panel to crack, tore another piece off on the right side, and pulled the pivot tube and screw inside the frame. An attempt was made to reinforce the structure, but nothing was strong enough to hold it together — it kept breaking a little more each time the bed was lowered. Don’t waste your time with this Murphy Bed. Big waste of professional installer’s time and my money (no way I wasn’t paying him after all of his time attempting to reinforce this shoddy material and make it work)!

Pain to put together and the instructions were not clear. It is quality and heavy but disappointed that the color of the shelving piece does not match the bed.
