Great to have in the pantry. Very fresh, never gross gray stuff when I rinse them, and have only found something small and rocky one time in over 7 years of cooking these.I sautée a diced onion and a couple celery ribs diced up in olive oil, add 4-6 minced garlic cloves, some salt, 8 cups of water and 3 cups of these split peas and boil an hour to make a tasty soup.

The split peas were great in my split pea soup. I buy many items from this company and have never been disappointed. I buy various dried beans and can them throughout the year. They taste as fresh as if they came straight from the garden and cooked. They are my go-to place to order beans and grains.

Aside from the cost, there is nothing bad about these peas. They make easy split pea soup and are delicious. Very easy to use. Highly recommend.

These split peas seem very fresh and tasty. But ... very weirdly, they don't cook to soft very quickly. In fact, they seem to stay hard and crunchy for quite a long time cooking. Perhaps it has to do with how fresh they are?

I like the fact that they are organic. I like the fact that the package arrived quickly. I made a soup right away and it took the usual time, about 3 hours of medium heat cooking on top of a ceramic top stove. Very good.
