amazing pedals
you can't beat these fro the price. work great, grip amazing, and are really light.cons are they rust in the winter salts and the bearings go pretty fast and they get real stiff. Even with that, I give them five stars since you can buy a few of these for the price of the expensive ones in bike shops.fantastic pedal.

Great grip, weight and style.
I had original plastic pedals on my hard-tail MTB and my feet were slipping off like crazy, while I rode around trails or when it got slightly wet. When I put these bad boys on, it was a whole different thing and my Nike SB shoes had EXTREMELY GOOD grip on the pedals. It almost feels like clip ins. Price / performance is very nice for the first 20 kms. Hopefully they stay with me for at least a few seasons.

ottimo prodotto

All my bikes get these pedals!
All my bikes get these pedals! I'm not one to clip in and I think these pedals are super light, and strong. If you're the type to go for lightweight, you cant find lighter pedals at this price point. I ride around 2500 miles a year between work commutes in the summer months and charity rides on the weekend along with coaching the Special Olympics bike team in my area. My road bike is going on it's third year with these pedals and they have endured several centuries worth of rides. My commute bike gets the pedals stomped down on when that light turns green and haven't failed me yet. Very smooth operation and a lot of surface area to rest your foot on when cruising down a hill in a stand up position.

Better than I expected
When I need new pedals my priorities are weight, price, and strength. In that order. I want the lightest pedals that wont cost a lot, cause if or when they break (and all my pedals break) replacement won't cost a fortune. I had the Origin8 ultim8s before this that lasted me about 9 months before the spindle snapped clean off. Very comparable pedal in price and weight, but the Expedos are lighter, cheaper and offer a larger contact area to support your foot. I hope they will last as long. The pins offer excellent grip on gum-soles, so much so that I'm gonna remove the middle pin of the row of 3 pins across the edge of each pedal, 4 less pins per pedal. I did this to the Origin8s as well , taking the center pins out so in case of a direct shin smack there's slightly less chance of needing stitches. I ride mostly BMX style dirt jump trails and street on a 26" hardtail DJ'er, so my pedals see lots of hard, flat landings and lots of bails. So far, I like these pedals more than anything else I've tried. I would recommend these for any MTB'er who rides flat pedals, or any BMX rider that wants the responsive feeling of metal pedals with metal pins with the bonus of being lighter than the cheap plastic crap that is in fashion these days. Plus, metal pedals are manlier, so you will feel the rise in T-levels and testicle growth, giving you a boost of confidence when it's time to send it.Forgot to add that the package came complete with 10 extra pins and a mini spanner for removal and installation. Winning!Update : The pins seem to contact my shoes in odd places and while I've yet to slip a pedal, The confidence in grip is slightly diminished. agree with other reviewers to use different pins.Update #2: After 10 months of abuse, I finally broke one. Very impressed with these pedals. the weight-to-strength balance is great. Plus, they just look awesome. Couldn't be happier. Will be ordering another pair. These are my new favorite pedals, for sure.

High quality at a very reasonable price
I switched from "clipless" pedals to these platform pedals on my drop bar road bike. I looked at a number of flats before choosing. These are very lightweight (magnesium and a full half pound lighter than my original pedals), and have high quality bearings. They are large, giving my feet very stable support, with very good grip from the "pins." I can now ride in either street or athletic shoes, no need for special cycling shoes. I bought the silver/grey color because I saw photos of some heavily used black ones (ridden off-road, which I won't be doing) that had some of the finish worn off, and the bare magnesium was a silver/grey color, so worn finish won't show as much as with other available colors. These pedals are also much thinner than many more expensive ones. At first I thought these were kind of expensive until I researched a number of similar pedals the were priced at $100 to $300. These look great and are a real bargain.

Update - pedals broke after 50 miles
Pedals look nice and seem sturdy BUT they broke after 50 miles of pretty light trail use. The pedal body came completely off the pedal axle because the screw holding it in place completely broke off. I had to ride 8 miles just using the pedal axle (pictured above). Luckily this happened during a climb and not on a downhill section.

At least they look good....
These are definitely better than your standard flat pedals, and are much lighter too. That much is true. However, these just don’t seem to be justified on price. The studs should be longer and more adjustable, and they should have a much more stable platform no matter what shoe you are wearing.Only the grippiest, and most aggressively lugged rubber soles will find a place on these pedals. It’s unfortunate that there are cheaper, and quite honestly better sets of pedals from other brands that are a simple composite design.I thought these would be an upgrade from those kinds of pedals (think race face chester, crank bros. Stamp 1, bontrager line elite) but really, these are just for show.Already traded them for lots of beer from a riding buddy.

My go to pedal, but swapping in the split pins is a MUST
Love these. Low profile, light weight and actually quite rugged. Only issue is the flat pins they come with are lame and offer too little grip. Every pair of these pedals I've had, I swap in their split pins which should really come standard from the factory. Knocking a star off because it's a pain in the butt to swap the pins out!

Very positive pedal contact with 5.10 flat soled biking shoes
If you can't stand clips of any kind, this is the way to go. Combined with 5.10 biking flat gummy-soled biking shoes they give a very positive grip and my foot does not move in my typical 14 mile work out ride. Quite thin and strong. Very easy dismount. Have them on a hybrid and on a FSB mountain bike. Love them. They are a little expensive, but I bought them twice. Pegs have not come loose in ~600 miles of riding.
