NO Directions! There’s one video on YouTube but there’s no words. Knowing how to start the process is crucial to success. There are screw holes in some of the tongue and groove pieces and there are no directions telling you when to use which ones. However, it is really cool if you figure it out!The strap does not necessarily need to sit on the black bases. You can install it further down the barrel right behind the black bases after all the tongue and groove (staves) pieces are installed. Step 1. The black bases have pre drilled holes in them that will line up with the 3 staves that have pre drilled holes behind the grooves. There are only 3 of these pieces. If you install these on the black base in the drilled holes, you will have better success on squaring the unit. Keep the screws loose until they are all 3 install, so you can knock the base square as you go. There are staves that are predrilled through the groove. You will use these up the sides of the unit (use rubber mallet to get the tongue and grooves tight). Keep adding staves until you run out and you will find that there is an odd space that will need to be filled. There are staves that are different sizes you can choose from for this space. I screwed ALL the staves in regardless if they were predrilled and it worked great. I did countersink my holes. I hope this helps
