I've had the same one for years now and have had no issues with it whatsoever; this is a number one seller for a reason. As someone who not only needs that extra space but for it to also be portable and mobile, as well as durable and with fast speeds, this is truly a staple in the market. Even though it's been several years since it started selling, it remains a top seller due to it's sheer quality and reasonably affordable pricepoint. And when I say it's durable, I mean I've bumped, thudded, dropped, accidentally unplugged without safely ejecting, and it still has had no issues, no file corruption, no failures. As far as heat levels go, I have felt some heat coming from it during extended/intensive sometimes use but nothing that the built in cooling hasn't been able to handle. It's very easy to use, simple software setup, quiet as a mouse and has a simple design that doesn't really draw any unnecessary attention to the device itself should you care about it being private or unnoticed.

The lack of directions is a bit annoying but it is easy to use. You just plug it into your laptop and then find it's name in your 📂 section. I opted for the 5tb so I knew I had plenty of space for all my school work and the drive quality seems exceptional. I have seen others complaining about how slow it is and I have to disagree. It definitely takes some time to transfer several thousand files at once over but it definitely didn't take me a whole day to do it. And with it's size I've barely put a dent in it. I also like the size of the HD as it's not bulky and can sit perfectly on the corner of my laptop without being in the way. I also haven't noticed it over heating. It does a great job staying cool even if I leave it plugged in all night long or for a couple of days. My only complaint is it could of come with a longer cord. Also my acer laptop won't eject it even if all my programs are closed it give me an error saying it's still being used by something. It could be because of my one drive account but I'm not sure. I typically will just shut down my computer and then unplug the HD.

We have a lot of digital media, so much that our desktop can't handle it, so we got this to store large files. It's awesome: compact, HUGE amount of space, quiet, and sleek-looking. I think this may be the second one we've gotten because we like it so much. It's really easy to hook it up and get files on and off of it; perfect solution for our needs.

I got this to replace a dying backup drive, it was easy to hook up, easy to setup to Time Machine, and it works just fine. It’s a bit slow, so I wouldn’t recommend it for a gaming system, unless all you gonna do is backup with it, and the usb cable it came with is a little short.

This is my second Seagate external hard drive and I couldn’t be happier! It’s super reliable, easy to use, and the 2TB of storage is perfect for keeping all my files, photos, and videos safe. Just plug and play—no complications. Basic and nice design. I trust this brand completely, which is why I came back for another one. Highly recommend!
