I really like this product and one of my favorite restaurants was using it on their salads. Now I will only purchase a glass container so I can distribute it easily.

This is simply ground annatto seed without other additives, and appears to be of good quality. It comes in a foil-lined packet which, if unopened, should preserve quality for a long time. I use it as a coloring agent and to impart a subtle flavor to refried beans, taco meat, and other dishes. The reason for my four-star rating is that the price seems very high for this product. I usually buy it locally for significantly less, but have had trouble finding it recently.

I used to buy yellow rice mix from the grocery store until I read the label & found it was super-high in sodium. After an online search I found that the coloring is from annatto seed & also that annatto has great nutritional benefits. But it's not the sort of thing you can always find at your local grocery store. Of course amazon had it. The price was great for the size, it arrived quickly, free shipping & will count toward rewards for using my amazon credit card. And to think, not that long ago, I'd never even heard of annatto.

Used it for a couple of Ca Ri Ga - Vietnamese Chicken Curry. Worked well and imparted the correct color that I needed.
