Office Chair Cylinder Replacement - Heavy Duty Class 4 Hydraulic Pneumatic Gas Lift Cylinder(12" to 18" Adjustable, 1000 lbs Capacity) - Universal Fit for Most Executive Office Chairs

So my Real Space DRG gaming chair was sinking. I read the reviews and checked that my chair was compatible with this Cylinder replacement. Google told me that my chair had the most common cylinder with a 2" (50mm) base. I ordered this Huiguli cylinder to replace my old one. Taking the old cylinder off was a little tough, as mentioned in many other reviews. I tried to hammer the swivel base with casters off the chair, but had no room to work and no luck. So, I unscrewed the baseplate from the chair. I turned the base upside down in my workbench and proceeded to knock out the old cylinder with a hammer. I destroyed it, because I had to hit it so hard and directly in the center to dislodge it from the base. But that did the trick. I then used vice grips to grab hold of the old cylinder and turned & "unscrewed" it from the base. The new cylinder was simple to put on. After screwing the baseplate back onto the chair, I then replaced the old plastic cylinder protector onto the new cylinder, then slid the cylinder into the baseplate. I then replaced the old base with the casters. The new base is fantastic. I have no evidence of durability because it is brand new. But, it works great and goes "extremely" high if needed. It is a little higher than the old base at it's bottom position, but that is fine, as the old one was very short at it's bottom position. I am extremely happy with my purchase, that came within 6 hrs of ordering. It sure beats having to buy a new $400+ big and tall chair.

This replacement cylinder worked perfectly for the office chair that had failed. It seems very sturdy, well built, and fit with no problems. This extends quite high, which is not a bad thing. We are using at its lowest setting which is perfectly comfortable.

The Huiguli Office Chair Cylinder is better than I expected. I had to replace my home office chair's pneumatic lift cylinder as it would not stay up. The Huiguli replacement I purchased fits perfectly and actually lifts the chair higher than the original cylinder. The Huiguli cylinder was simple to replace, with the hardest part being removing the original cylinder. I recommend the Huiguli replacement cylinder to anyone who needs to replace what they currently have.

The product fit exactly and expected. Lifter worked as expected. Only gave 4 stars as there were zero installation instructions included not even a simple recommendation guide. Thing to note I purchased this for my Berkley Jensen Executive office chair bought from BJ's. The original part has a taper on the wheelbase end extending about 2 inches below the bottom of wheelbase, the replacement does not but the part seated in the base. Also note using a pipe wench or a tap of a hammer to release the post out of the seat bottom will most likely be needed. I personally only needed a hammer I tapped the base a couple of times the wheels and post released together. I then turned the wheels over on top of a 5 gallon bucket and using the hammer I was able drive the post out of the wheels. Important do not strike the middle of the post bottom, only strike on the edge or use a large headed hammer to cover the whole surface Reversed the process and reassembled the chair.

Perfect replacement. Easy install. Have been using almost everyday with no issues.

Used this to replace a failed gas piston in a steel case chair. Work great, seems to be very well built. For the money it revived a chair that was headed to the trash heap for no other reason besides the failed gas strut.

Update 9/25/2025: I was contacted by the seller and offered a refund on the product, which I accepted, eliminating the need for me to return this failed unit when the replacement unit from another company arrives. Had there been a direct point of contact for the product on the website (perhaps there was but I was unable to find it), I would have accepted a replacement product and given this company a second try. ----- No instructions or tools needed were provided, so I had to search YouTube for help. The 4 instruction photos in the Amazon product webpage are useless and unhelpful. I needed a BIG pipe wrench to loosen the cylinder from the top of the chair! A mechanic friend had such a tool and with his help, we were therefore able to loosen the old cylinder. Installing the new one was easy. However, the extension pole did not pop-up before I installed the top of the chair on it. I thought that once connected, it would do so but it has not. Chair does go up or down, so I am assuming that the extension tube is jammed and was like this when I took it out of the box. Of course, there isn't any support point to ask for help. I should have realized that I was going to have issues when afterwards, I noticed that there are only TWO reviews from the USA. Don't buy this product!

Excellent so far! Product seems as described and repaired my chair. Seems structurally better and definitely taller than my old one, also as described. Note: Cylinder arrived with a plastic cover on the top that was somewhat difficult to remove. Once it was removed it fit as expected and the height adjustment button was exposed to change the height of the cylinder.

Ich habe diese Gasdruckfeder für meinen neuen Bürostuhl gekauft. Die Feder meines alten Stuhls hat leider kurze Zeit nach Ablauf der Garantie ihren Geist aufgegeben. Deshalb wollte ich von Anfang an eine hochwertige Feder, die mein Gewicht von über 130 kg problemlos trägt. Nach einiger Recherche bin ich auf die Huiguli Gasdruckfeder gestoßen und bin zufrieden. Die Feder sitzt passgenau und ist nun seit drei Monaten im Einsatz. Erwähnenswert ist, dass ich die Feder nicht vollständig ausfahren musste, um meine gewünschte Sitzhöhe zu erreichen. Das sollte man bedenken, denn bei einigen Sitz-Schreibtisch-Setup könnte die Sitzhöhe mit dieser Feder zu hoch ausfallen. In ein paar Jahren wird sich zeigen, wie gut die Feder wirklich ist.

Ik realiseer mij nu hoe slecht de vorige gasdruk veer functioneerde. Het is een verademing om weer op de juiste hoogte aan een bureau te zitten. Prima kwaliteit, goed verpakt.
