We had another name brand 10-year deodorizer that worked well and wondered if this might do the same for us. Well, so far, it has! Our last one made our fridge completely odorless, and we frequently keep fragrant food in there. This new one is dedicated to our shoe room / rack. We bought it because there was a need, and today I can't smell much if anything. 90-95% better. The fridge is 100% odor free. I don't think it's the brands but the location. The fridge has forced rotated air in a small sealed area, and we put the canister in front of the air return / air filter. The new one in the shoe room has some circulation, but is larger in space with less rotation. With that said, it seems to work well and we are happy and would buy this brand again. I supposed we will know more next Summer. The metal canister is durable and from my previous experience it is long-lived, assuming the same air cleaning media was used. There is no leakage of powder or anything like that. Just put it where you think the affected air reliably passes and you are done.
