Lovely Serum!
Love this serum. Noticeably smoother skin in a week, less pigmentation and clearer. Goes lovely under make up and feels non greasy and light.

My Go-To Serum for Barrier Support
Here’s a short one: I really like this Ectoin Barrier Serum and have repurchased it more than four times now. It feels gentle, hydrating and soothing on my skin, especially when my barrier needs support. It’s now a regular part of my skincare routine and I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent barrier serum
Excellent product to use alongside actives. If you find your skin reacts quite easily to actives or want to keep your barrier happy whilst using them, then deffo give this product a try. It won’t feel like it’s doing much at first but after a few weeks you’ll notice the difference.

Great though sticky
Soothing and calms down dermatitis on face without clogging pores and causing breakouts. Very moisturising despite feeling light and has eliminated dry skin. Only lost one star as it can feel sticky on the face when applied. Applying a moisturizer over the top reduces this massively though.

Healed my skin
I wanted to treat postpartum hyperpigmentation on my face and bought a product containing 10 percent Azelaic acid. I guess it was too much for me cos my face got irritated, dry and painful. Someone recommended this and it brought my skin back in a week!

Works but doesn't feel great
It works to improve the skin barrier, but leaves a film on my skin after drying that feels a bit uncomfortable and any moisturiser I put on top of it peels off, I've tried a couple of different ones but same result every time

Pricey but good
Have used for a month and my skin feels a lot softer and hydrated, a bit pricey, but worth it and lasts quite some time

Affordable Serum That Outperformed My Expectations
I’m forever chasing hydration. At 52 with post-menopausal, dry, mature skin, keeping my skin comfortably hydrated is a daily battle, especially with retinoids, air conditioning, and changing hormones. I’ve tried everything from luxury serums that cost hundreds of dollars to affordable drugstore options, so I wasn’t expecting this one to impress me as much as it did. The Inkey List has always done a great job of making solid skincare accessible, and this serum is another example of that. It delivers far more than I expected for the price. The texture is lightweight and silky with a slightly milky feel. It spreads easily, absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin feeling hydrated without becoming sticky or greasy. It layers beautifully under the rest of my skincare and never pills under moisturizer or sunscreen, which is something I always look for in a hydrating serum. The ingredient list is simple but very well thought out. The star ingredient is ectoin, an amino acid derivative that helps skin defend itself against environmental stress while supporting long-lasting hydration and a healthier skin barrier. It’s paired with several forms of hyaluronic acid, including hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, and hyaluronic acid itself, allowing hydration to reach multiple layers of the skin. It is also fragrance-free, which is important to some people. Barrier support is another area where this serum shines. It contains panthenol, oat kernel extract, and a blend of three ceramides (Ceramide NP, AP, and EOP) along with cholesterol and phytosphingosine. Those ingredients work together to replenish the skin barrier and help reduce moisture loss, making this an excellent option for anyone dealing with dryness, dehydration, or an impaired skin barrier. What I noticed most was that my skin stayed hydrated longer throughout the day. Instead of feeling comfortable for an hour or two before tightening up again, my skin remained soft and balanced from morning until evening. It won’t replace a good moisturizer, but it absolutely makes the rest of my routine work better. This is also one of those products that’s easy to recommend because it fits into almost any skincare routine. Whether you’re using retinoids, exfoliating acids, vitamin C, or simply looking to improve hydration, this layers effortlessly without causing irritation or feeling heavy. Who do I think will love this? Anyone with dry, dehydrated, mature, or barrier-compromised skin. It’s especially good if your skin often feels tight after cleansing or if your current routine isn’t providing enough lasting hydration. Who may want something different? If you have very oily skin and dislike any extra layer of hydration, this may feel like more than you need. Likewise, if you’re expecting dramatic anti-aging results from one serum alone, this isn’t that type of product. Its strength is improving hydration and supporting a healthier skin barrier, and it does both extremely well. I’ve used hydrating serums that cost five or six times more than this, and honestly, this holds its own remarkably well. If you’re looking for an affordable, barrier-focused hydration serum that performs well above its price point, this one deserves a spot in your routine.

A must have!!
I’ve gotten several of these, it definitely is worth every penny! Truly penetrating and hydrating, not greasy, and at 69 makes my skin look glowing! Perfect consistency for me, I have dryer skin but would be good for all skin types.

Does everything it claims it will in repairing your skin barrier!
Wow, best accidental purchase and most serendipitous delivery EVER. Highly recommend this serum! I bought this by mistake when I was looking at skincare products to help after a peel and had a few tabs open and was frantically researching what would help ASAP. It felt like I had no skin barrier at all, skin was dry, wrinkly, red, flaky- more than ever before in my life and the cream I was advised to use was not working at all. I was panicking and needed something that would absorb and moisturize and repair my face as nothing I had at home or would normally use was sinking into my skin or it was irritating my face even more or had fragrances that dermatologists cautioned against using after a peel. I felt like I was wearing a Halloween mask because I looked so awful. Hence the accidental purchase- mass panic ordered a bunch of lotions, serums, balms like Cicaplast, Eucerin, good molecules, stuff with hyaluronic acids and or occlusive properties or things claiming to heal/repair/protect your skin. Was set to return this when I opened the package and read the label- I had been looking at some other Inkey product that I thought I’d clicked BUY NOW on, what was this “ectoin” stuff?! Looked it up and all the ingredients sounded like what I needed and didn’t know I needed. Had already tried a few of the products that arrived before this one and hyaluronic acids made things worse, creams and balms still wouldn’t sink in, were greasy or heavy or felt like they did nothing. In desperation I tried this and ooooooh yes it works. Sank right in, could see my face getting less wrinkled and more moisturized within ten minutes and felt healthier. By the next day my barrier was feeling human again, within a few days it did everything it promised. It’s very lightweight and doesn’t leave any oily residue, it penetrates and hydrates and makes skin silky smooth again. More than pleasantly surprised, would recommend this every time to someone after a peel or after a sunburn or with a damaged skin barrier!

Game changer for dehydrated skin
I was looking for a product that would help hydrate my skin beneath the surface and strengthen the moisture barrier. Inkey List’s Ectoin serum is a game-changer! In just a few days my skin’s barrier improved and felt hydrated all day. I was able to stop using some of the other products in my routine because the ectoin did the heavy-lifting. It’s easy to apply and spreads evenly, particularly on slightly damp skin. It’s completely non-greasy and isn’t at all heavy. My skin drinks it right in. I apply 1-2 pumps in the AM after cleansing. It has a light citrusy scent that doesn’t linger after application. Great value for the price.

Smooth and hydrating
This is really nice and goes on smooth and feels good. Watch what you layer it with as I've had problems with it pilling up.
