Conair Double Ceramic 1-inch Curling Wand, Straight wand produces flawless waves

I was concerned about taking my NICE wand to Europe and it not heating with the difference in voltage, blowing a fuse or messing up the wand, so last minute I bought this one for relatively cheap. It’s a slightly smaller barrel but it worked great! It heated up so well and very quick! I have nothing negative to say about it. This will be my go-to for future travels since it’s a bit smaller than my expensive wand and easier to pack!

The curling wands are great! I just ordered the wrong Irons as I was looking for curling irons and not a wand, But they work well for spiral curls..

I don't love the setting options on this curling wand. They are confusing. I have left it on the same setting I put it to when I first got it and have not changed it once. But it works great, I love the way my curls look afterward.

Love love love this curling wand! It has several heat settings so I can use the lowest heat to curl my fine hair. It produces beautiful beach waves and it the perfect length barrel for my lon hair. It is a nice size to take on vacation as well. One of my favorite curling wands ever!

I got this on promotion for $10. It works great. Keeps temperature. Haven’t burned myself (yet, knock on wood!). Seems durable. If you’re not too careful, you could accidentally press the power button, but even then, it heats up pretty fast. Get it, it won’t disappoint!!

Incredibly frustrating that all of the manufacturer photos failed to show this pretty large nub! I bet a lot of people wouldn't buy this if they'd accurately shown the curling rod! I saw other reviews that mentioned this design flaw but figured it had been remedied since the manufacturer photos didn't show it at all!The nub means you cannot easily slip hair off iron to pin your curls while they cool (for longevity - esp if you have fine hair/hair that doesn't hold curls well).I thought I could get used to working with the nub by loosening a bit and then holding the rod at an odd angle while wiggling it back and forth to slip my hair off but this resulted in my hand accidently touching the iron or the iron touching my head - and when it worked, the curls were super loose and split - basically just a mess. And these messy curls weren't able to be clipped properly (since I had to try my best to re-wind hot hair into it's shape) so they didn't even last a day!I think if you have hair ~3-5" past shoulder length you can get away with loosening the curl to slip off the iron and pin because you still have enough where you don't end up with only the end curled. And you'd be able to use the angle/wiggle technique without burning head or hand. I also think if your hair doesn't need to cool in pins this iron would work because you wouldn't need to carefully slip hair off the rod. But with my hair being freshly cut to ~2" below shoulders it's not workable.I also hate that there isn't temp info with the settings. I found the mechanism to change heat level pretty great- you just spin and it clicks each time the level is changed (which I found really satisfying(?)), but not knowing the temp you're using is silly. I don't know why they don't publish this anywhere! But I knew this before buying so didn't figure into rating.The cord being on a swivel is nice, and the double ceramic is nice, but the nub makes it useless so will be returning.

Overall for the price, it’s a good product. It heats up quick and doesn't get too hot. Size is perfect. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because there is a little tip on the end of the barrel (to keep it elevated off the counter when it’s laid down) and this frequently prevents my hair from falling nicely off the barrel when I’m done curling, it gets caught/stuck on this frequently so you have to be very strategic when letting hair fall. I probably wouldn’t have noticed this design flaw except I had another one of these (Wavy Talk brand) that I gave to my daughter so we didn’t have to continue sharing and that one didn’t have it and it’s way easier to use.
