BMA Illustrated Medical Dictionary: Essential A-Z quick reference to over 5,500 medical terms

Not recommended for medical students

Very handy pocket sized medical dictionary. My only complaint is that only a very few figures are present. It would have been nice to have detailed illustrations of at least some of the major organs/muscle groups. Overall very readable and useful even for non-medical professionals who are curious to learn :-)

My father is a an advocate . It is very much useful for him to know the wordings used in medical analysis by a doctor in criminal case and accident cases .

As I am currently studying anatomy and physiology, I purchased the BMA Medical Dictionary to supplement my knowledge whilst also providing explanations for a wide range of medical conditions. I am glad to confirm what others have said in that this is an extremely well written and comprehensive book with excellent illustrations that a lay person can easily understand. The authors have been successful in encompassing a huge amount of very useful information into what is a relatively compact publication and I would suggest that every household should have one.

Good quality paper back good size font not too small. Very useful book.
