I currently use it to make sugar wax and I’ve had zero problems with it. I’m not the most kitchen savvy and definitely prefer to not have to be anywhere near a stove but this actually made me feel like I’m ok in the kitchen even if it’s just making sugar wax. It was easy to set up and use. Definitely helps that it’s small so storage is never an issue and it can be easily wiped with a wet paper towel and some dish soap if needed. I have dropped it once or twice onto tiled flooring since I bought it and I haven’t had any trouble with it.

The digital display is very clear and easy to read, and it tracks temperatures well. However, the pot clip makes it difficult to hold the thermometer up securely on the pan.

Nice and tall for larger pots. Has a nice heat shield on it as well and came with a spare battery. It is also IP 65 waterproof which is very nice. It came perfectly calibrated right out of the box.

Had other candy thermometers, but this one was so much handier. I could walk away briefly and still watch the temperature.
