Wonderful source for inspiration -- especially if on a budget...
David "DAD" D'Champ has written a little gem here. No, this is NOT a comprehensive tome on stop-motion animation nor will it provide much new information to those of us who are old hands at the craft. But for someone just starting out with the technique, I can't think of a better place to begin.D'Champ's main purpose here is to inspire -- especially to inspire those with next to no funds in the bank -- and he does so grandly.I might use some slightly different techniques myself, but that's unimportant. D'Champ has given you just enough information to get your creative juices flowing and to get started.A great and unexpected bonus was a fairly nice section on metal ball & socket armatures. I remember some of these tips from the pages of the pre-Starlog CINEMAGIC Magazine many years ago.But for those of today's new generations who are tired of pushing pixels and struggling with megalomaniacal software publishers and who want a true "hands-on" experience in creating animation, here is your off-matrix solution.PS: A tip not mentioned. Don't use Plaster of Paris for molds. Use "molding plaster" which you can find at construction supply outfits. Dentist's Stone is also good. Learn how to mix them properly first (correct water to powder ratio) and make some test molds before tackling a serious one.DAD: Show more page samples in the Amazon preview section. It should increase sales.

Good resource, for teens?
I thought this book would be more intricate and updated. The format seemed to be printed right off a word document and it was dirty in some pages. The print is big, which suggests, there's not really a lot of info. It also presented very old software... But I guess that's helpful if you have an old computer. Other than that, it did allow me to formulate how to db down my lessons for teenagers.

You can find all of this info on YouTube
I really want to like this book, but honestly giving it two stars I generous for me. If I hadn't written in the book already I would be returning it and requesting a refund. It's written in a very unprofessional way, almost like a diary or even the transcript of a YouTube how to video. There were parts where the author spent too much time rambling for no reason and then other moments when there wasn't enough explanation given. This book doesn't seem thoroughly planned, almost as if it was written and sent to Amazon in one sitting. When I read, "I need to clean up my workspace in the garage... So, see you later. Hello. I'm back." I was done. Too done. If it was edited I can't see where. There are way too many typos. The page layout is cheap and doesn't appear to have been looked over. And too many pictures have clearly been pulled in straight from Google. I hope those pictures were checked for copyright usage. And as another reviewer said the software listed is VERY outdated. I had to go check again to see if I remembered correctly that this was published in 2016. I'm an artist on a budget so I'm very disappointed in the money I spent on this book.
