Took a while for me to get used to the new crescent shape, but if you hold it with the inward curve of the crescent against your hair, the bar lasts a lot longer, more so even than the previous block did. The shampoo works well for me and my daughters, and we all have different hair textures. One has thick, wavy, somewhat coarse hair, the other smooth and straight, and I’m somewhere in the middle, but this shampoo always leaves our hair soft and lovely. I have a sensitive scalp that tends to get itchy with harsher shampoos, but this one calms it right down. Love the scent as well; it’s gentle and doesn’t linger in our hair. Cleans well without drying us out and leaves our hair shiny, soft, and easy to brush. Love it!

I found this product while looking for something natural without a bunch of added ingredients. Ive also had eczema my while life and this has been a great solution for my dry skin. The smell is fresh but moderate (not overwhelming) and it produces the right amount of suds. Though the value was good -- will definitely buy again!

I’ve tried so many shampoos for my itchy dry scalp. This one really works. It’s a good value. It moisturizes. It is great for my condition. The packaging (or rather lack thereof) is fantastic. I hate plastic. It also lasts a long time. Get a silky sock for it and you can hang it on the shower knob out of the spray. It is also great for traveling since it’s not a liquid. You can take it in your carryon. Very clean.

Like most responsible citizens of planet earth I’m trying to make green changes in my life, and I finally decided to try bar shampoo — and I’m so glad I did! Apparently so is my brother — who stole the bar, making me have to replace it with a shampoo and conditioner set. I have a hodgepodge of curly hair — a mix from 2c to 3c — making care for it a bit of a chore, so switching from my normal bottled hair care to the bar was a little scary, but seems to have turned out well! The lather is luxurious, and smells so good. My hair felt soft, clean, moisturized, and had its healthy shine. Having just received my second order from Ethique, I haven’t tried the conditioner yet since this order was only shampoo — but with how the shampoo preformed, I’m so excited now that my bottles are completely empty. I have high hopes for this becoming my go to brand. It’s pricey, but I think the value is there. Especially since it’s helping Mother Earth.

The good: I love the way this shampoo (Heali Kiwi) cleans my hair, and I love being able to pack a solid shampoo for extended travel. The bad: This bar does not last a full 80 uses for me. The first two photos are right out of the package. The last photo is what was left after 48 uses. I have thick, shoulder length hair, and I find that I need to rub the bar directly on my hair to get a good lather. I let the bar dry completely in between uses on a soap dish with drainage slats. I think the original square shape may last slightly longer, as the crescent shape’s ends break off more easily as it gets thinner. If you have a buzz cut, this would probably last 80 uses. Once the bar gets to little pieces like this, I find it much more difficult to rub and lather. Overall, this is a good splurge for my summer travels, but I’m not sure that I would choose it for everyday use due to the price per use.

Wow, works for me better than shampoo. Doesn't coat or dry out my naturally oily skin. Somehow it cleans and hydrates scalp. I think because it is soap and one naturally scrubs more with soap than shampoo, but it works.

This is a review of Ethique Scalp Health Shampoo Bar for itchy dry scalps. I have to admit; I have used this product perhaps four times before giving up. It did not seem to relieve the itch and was extremely irritating to use. You simply cannot lather it well without spending forever trying to do so and then get a small amount to spread over your hair, which you will then find is simply insufficient. Next you resort to rubbing the bar on your head gently where it tugs and pulls on your hair and you may find extra hair going down the drain.... not exactly the desired effect! I just cannot recommend these shampoo type bars which I had hoped to enjoy using for their savings of plastics on the environment because they are a terrible nuisance to use and do not give shiny beautiful results as some describe. I wonder who wrote those glowing reviews! They are also quite expensive, and you have to find a spot on your shelf to store the bar so it does not stay constantly wet and disintegrate rapidly. I predict these will eventually go off the market when enough people review them truthfully.

This seems like good bar shampoo - lathers well and my hair feels clean afterwards. But my scalp can get dry and itchy, this says it's good for that, but it has not worked for me. Scalp gets itchy and flaky anyway. Too bad because it's a nice big bar for the price and the crescent shape is easy to run over your head. But not good for mild dandruff and itchy skin.
