What's the thickness of the coasters?

It's handmade coasters,so the thickness of each coaster is not necessarily the same. The thicknesss is approximately 0.2-0.25 inch/3.5-5.8 mm for the slate piece plus 1-2 mm for foam pads on underside corners.

What's the difference between our slate materials and silicone and ceramic?

They are 100% natural material and natural beaty, easy to clean the coffee stains and rings, do not fade and can't stick to the cups.

Are these smooth enough to write on with chalk or other DIY project like laser engraving?

Great raw product for laser engraving

Love these. By buying precut, I am saving lots of time on engraving items for my upcoming craft show. They are a bargain IF you assume doubling the purchase price when selling per item. The slate is of good quality and the wood is easy to engrave.

Works well for CO2 engraving

good quality coaster blanks. I was able to engrave on my CO2 laser without issue. Needed to turn down the power a bit more than expected on the slate ones, but that's the case with any material/machine combination

Package could be better, but quality great.

Good product. Ordered so we had a few extra. Two were broken. Used for a rush job, and came out prefect. Shipping could use improvement, but quality of product is spot on. Will be ordering more again.

Materials were as described and arrived in good packaging and good condition. A very few of the slate coasters were out of square, but only by a 1/16" or less, still acceptable for use.
