I really enjoyed the results I got from this gel to foam hair product. In these picture I actually used 3 of Cake’s hair products; the leave in conditioner, the curl defying cream and the gel to foam. When paired together I get super soft bouncy curls!!! That to me is very hard to find. I get volume, softness, lots and lots of frizz control, my hair feels and looks healthy, and the price is the cherry on top. I do enjoy the scent, but lemon scents have never been my thing. That’s ok though, because it’s not overpowering at all! I also have psoriasis on my scalp and haven’t had any issues with these at all. I hope they come out with different scents soon!!!

I have 2C 3A curls. Lots and lots of fine hair so it looks very thick. I can curl my hair easily and I can wear it straight easily. This might help you to know what type of hair I have when reading this review. When I try and get all curls with regular gel, I end up with stringy hair after lots of effort. For the past couple years, I’ve been working really hard on trying to have all curls all the time and zero frizz. I recently discovered that all that effort is giving me all stringy curls all the time and lots of frizz. So I end up looking like I have a bad 80s perm. This stuff is helping me to accept my crazy hair type, some of it is curly, some of it is coily and some of it is straight. I need to use very little of this product to get soft, frizz free, mostly wavy hair. I’m much happier now that I’ve gave up the struggle for perfect curls and accepting the mix of textures in my hair. This gel is helping me to have beautiful frizz free waves even days after my shampoo. Soft, doesn’t feel dirty/sticky from hair products. The scent is heaven for me. It totally smells like lemon cake. I don’t find it to be very strong and I do have a sensitivity to very strong scents in products. This smell is perfection.

It is a good mouse, but I was not fond of the scent. I thought from reading some reviews that it would smell like Cake, but to my surprise it has a sweet floral scent. I would have given a 5 star rating had it not been for the scent. Other than that issue the product does it's job very well. Leaves hair soft and shiny, no frizz, It lifts and creates beautiful curls and volume that last all day. I'm sure it's a beautiful scent, just not my preference

I bought this for my bf to try out on his curly hair but I wanted to try it on my barely wavy hair just to see if it made my hair feel gross/bad before trying it on my bf. I applied equal amounts in my sectioned hair and the slip was super nice! It smells good and the foam didn’t feel sticky on my hands at all. Then, after my hair dried I noticed it was more defined and it still felt super soft almost as if I put nothing in my hair which is what he likes his products to feel like. I’m excited to try this on my bfs curls!!

I truly loved the smooth texture and the curl definition from this foam/gel. However, I Absolutely Could not stand the SUPER STRONG, LINGERING LEMON PLEGDE SMELL. I added essential oils (authentic cocoa, & Coconut cream) to give the dessert like scent that I read over & over in the comments. To my dismay, the oils changed the consistency and I lost the thick creamy foam that I enjoyed. Yet the results were still good and the lemon scent is muffled. I hope the manufacturer sees this and brings the vanilla back, or tone down the lemonade lemonny snickers please. I would like to continue use without smelling like someone's housekeeper (no offense)

I have fine textured 3a curly hair with high porosity and this product works really well for me. It is very hydrating for a styling product ( it makes my hair wet when applied) and gives a soft hold with a light volumizing effect. It also makes the hair slippery enough for a curl brush or comb to glide through it. The smell is lemon candy and does not linger on the hair which I prefer. I can recommend all cake beauty curly styling products as they are effective, cruelty free and reasonably priced.

I love this foam! I have curly hair and don’t wash it very often, usually every 3 to 4 days. It's been day 4 and this stuff has been amazing! Not stiff or oily at all, with applying it every day. It has a light, keylime pie fragrance, which is nice. Over all it is a good quality, and quantity for the price. Will purchase again! Just a heads up, I'm about to review their mousse and their hairspray

I do have to layer a mousse on top to prevent too much poof and frizz at this time of year, but I live in Florida and no single one product stands a chance. However, if I do that, it holds up all day, it smells amazing but not cloying, and it somehow manages to give volume and a unifying look to a mix of straight, wavy, and curly thin strands that never agree on the plan. I also don’t have to apply it soaking wet, which I love, as I hate getting up early to have to blow dry. I can wash the night before and use a spray bottle to re-wet and apply. It sort of forms a caste but not “ramen hair;” it naturally softens on its own after it fully dries. I rarely have to aggressively scrunch out crunch unless I got too heavy handed with application at the roots. This has been a life saver for hormonally bipolar perimenopausal hair that suddenly stopped responding to products I’d used for years.

I AM OBSESSED!! My hair is quite thick, more wavy than curly and I have struggled to find a product that doesn’t make my hair feel too heavy, weighs it down or creates stringy strands. My wave/curl type for styling purposes can’t be brushed when wet, only before I shower. The only one I have found that worked previous Kristen Ess Curl Defining Jelly, however this one takes the CAKE. My hair is sooo soft and fluffy but the hold is exceptional. The product holds the curl pattern when first applied - without being heavy enough to weigh it down, as it dries the hold then softens to create super soft hair!!! The scent is also wonderful. I hate strong smells but it’s so light but refreshing. I literally bought it this morning and used it right after work. Hands down AMAZING!!!!

This product works great My daughter usually has to use 4 products to make her hair curly manageable With this she only has to use it It also smells amazing It’s so reasonably priced and works so well One of the best curly hair products I’ve ever purchased for her

i like it for the price. i have very fine 3a/3b medium density high porosity hair. held nicely with gel. didnt leave build up or cause flakes. scent was okay, not my personal choice for a hair product.

This product as ok. I’ve got no curl on the roots but curls towards the shaft and ends. The mousse comes out nicely but I found there’s no hold. I have to mix it with my spray gel. It’s light weight which is nice cus it doesn’t weigh my roots down but I wouldn’t just use this on its own. Most likely won’t but again. Smell is nice.

I have used so many products on the market for my really thick, frizzy, curly hair and this by far is the best brand!! The mousse holds so well doesn’t leave the hair stiff or sticky, very lightweight and natural feeling!! Love this and will buy again!
