Healthy Hardy and Well Packaged
I looked everywhere for lemon grass. Checked all the nearby plant nurseries. No joy. Saw these on amazon, but I was skeptical. I couldnโt be happier. The plant were extremely well packaged and healthy. Isuck at gardening, but they are growing well despite my black thumb of dread.

Smells bad, no root growth yet
So far no root growth after 5 days ... the smell is absolutely rancid .. itโs been hard to change the water because of the smell. Maybe I got a bad batch? The roots were wrapped in paper towel so wondering if it is molded. Will update review in about a week or so to see if there is any growth or improvement. UPDATE: 2.5 months have passed, no luck on getting root growth or any of the smell to go. Trashed these about 3 weeks ago. No growth, rancid smell still very eminent and coloring is still weak.

Healthy and well packaged
After several delays of delivery days ..I started reading the reviews others left..and I expected nothing but a moldy slimey mess.to arrive...when they finally showed up..I didn't even wanna open the box .a sub tropical plant spending .2 weeks in the winter..wrapped in a soggy paper towel..well to my surprise...I found 5 healthy looking stalks 2 of wich already had fairly healthy roots in a bit of soil wrapped in plastic film. And the bundles taped securely to the box ..to prevent bruising and breakage during being tossed around on the way... The instructions reccomended planting in a pot right way..but since I had to go to work. I was in a rush ..and just opened the bundles and stuck them into a jar of room temp water..when I came home 10 hrs later I spotted new small buds ..trying to root...so of I for some reason I manage to kill them..I will definately reorder from the same supplier...I am sure the amount of time it took to get the starts was due to the carrier . And over all I am happy with the starts...

New growth!
Received in early December, left them soaking in water for a day or two, and moved all of them into one pot until Iโm ready to plant in their permanent location.....itโs now mid-February, and all of them (I received 6 or 7!) have at least 4โ of new growth, some as much as 7โ. Extremely pleased!

it's LEMONGRASS!!!
this plant is good for soup, tea, garden, and as a herbal grass. you can put this in your pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, fish soup. even in clam soup, or just to give nice smell on your cooking. and the roots, can be segmented and planted for more plants. they grow in all types of soil as far as i know, and tropical, desert, no ice places.

grows fast, but did not come back after winter
Update: None of these plants grew back after a winter that wasn't that bad in MD. I was hoping for a lot more than this from them. They looked good at the end of the season. Not sure what happened, but I expected them to be better than this. I wasn't sure how these would do when I got them, but they seem to be growing pretty fast. It doesn't look very grassy yet though. I am waiting for the blades to start expanding. Right now they just look like a stalk that's over a foot tall.
