I’ve been using this cast iron tortilla press regularly for the past few weeks, and it’s made homemade tortillas so much easier and more consistent than pressing them by hand. What I like: Heavy, sturdy build: The cast iron feels solid and durable — no flimsy parts. Consistent results: I get evenly shaped, evenly thick tortillas every time, which makes cooking way less frustrating. Easy to use: Just place the dough ball, press down, and rotate — simple and quick. Multi-use: I’ve even used it for small flatbreads and wraps with great results. One thing to note is that the press is heavier than I expected, so I store it on a lower shelf. But that weight is really what gives it such great pressing power. Overall, this cast iron tortilla press has been worth it. If you like making your own tortillas — especially regularly — this is a tool that will make the process smoother and faster. Amazing product from Columbia!! Beautiful piece of cast iron from a beautiful country. Works great for homemade tortillas, and is SO MUCH FASTER than using a rolling pin!! I'm so glad to add this to my cast iron collection. Very pleased with how easy it is to use (following instructions of course), and I'm probably going to get my dad one of these too. I'm European American but we do Taco Tuesdays and sometimes do tacos. Homemade tortillas are THE BEST!! And now, no more rolling out the tortillas for an HOUR!! Takes 10 seconds per tortilla now, and is totally worth this investment. Saving money on tortillas, and eating healthier too (store bought tortillas are gross compared to homemade ones!!)

This tortilla press is very sturdy and does a perfect job making flat, even tortillas. It feels like it will last forever because of the cast iron. However, I made the mistake of washing it with water on the first day and it rusted immediately. I learned the hard way that you have to be very careful with moisture and keep it seasoned with oil. If you buy it, just make sure to dry it completely and oil it right away. Other than my mistake with the cleaning, the product itself is excellent and high quality. The cast iron is heavy and very solid, which makes it easy to press tortillas without applying too much force. The 8-inch size is exactly as described, which is perfect for standard corn tortillas. It feels like a tool that will last for years if you take care of the seasoning correctly. Despite my mistake with the water, I can tell this is a top-notch kitchen essential.

This is an excellent tortilla press. I had a heavy, cast aluminum one many years ago and it worked great but somehow ended up getting lost in our many moves and I never replaced it. Over the last year or so, I've been looking at various types of presses from different brands. The aluminum ones I have seen are nothing like my original one, so I decided to focus on the wooden and cast iron versions. I have a lot of cast iron cookware and I use it all of the time -- I find it incredibly easy to use and very durable. So when this 8" version became available, I was very interested. I chose this one over the pricer HD version in the same size, and this one is definitely sturdy enough for my use. Some reviews mention a handle that is plastic rather than cast iron, but the press I received is 100% cast iron and very well made. My favorite brand of cast iron (the iconic USA manufacturer) doesn't make a tortilla press and I have noticed that some imported cast iron cookware is not as heavy and often has unfinished areas and large pores, but this brand is of very high quality. I already have a dutch oven made by Victoria (imported from Colombia) so I was sure this would also be top-notch. And it is. Since it is cast iron, it will need a bit of extra care to prevent rusting so if you are not familiar with seasoning cast iron, be sure to do a bit of research before ordering. The press is heavy, smooth and pre-seasoned and turns out perfect medium-sized corn tortillas (I roll flour tortillas) that are then cooked on a comal/griddle on the stove top. The lettering is very crisply rendered. There is a smaller 6 1/2" as well as a larger 10" version, but this 8" model is just the right size for my family. The hinge pins and especially the cotter pins don't seem particularly robust, but they are holding up well so far + they can easily be replaced if needed -- they are inexpensive and readily available at a hardware store. I think this tortilla press is well worth the modest cost.

I hadn’t made tortillas for 50 years. When I decided to make them again, I opted for this cast iron press instead of the aluminum one I had years ago. Is it heavy? You bet it is! It also makes the most consistent thickness with the least amount of effort. The quality of this press is excellent. If you really enjoy making corn tortillas, this is the press oyu want.

Funktioniert einwandfrei, pressen der Tortillas super einfach. Auch durch das GEwicht. Wasst alles gut. Gerne wieder Würde vorschlagen die Verpachung das nächste mal robuster zu gestalten
