Two man (or woman) job. Unless you take the drum completely out of the machine, you won't be able to reach to insert the new bolts. So for this part, at least, you'll need help. Metal shavings will fall into the drum when drilling out the original rivets so remember to vacuum it out, and run it empty for a little while afterwards to bring any stray shaving into the lint filter before using it for clothes again. The new parts are solid and at least as heavy as the originals. The new bearing piece in this kit looks like pure brass - it's bright, while the original and other spares available on Amazon, and elsewhere, are of a darker alloy mix. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts compared to the original. Since the bearing is a consumable on these machines, I picked up a spare here on Amazon (cheapest source by far) for next time. Changing the bearing before the shaft cuts itself in two is a much easier job than replacing the whole shaft assembly. The screeching of metal on metal is a clue that the bearing has worn through and the shaft is slicing through itself and the back panel. This kit is great value for money. Less than €20.00 and a couple of hours DIY to save €500 replacement cost. I found Amazon to be the cheapest source for this kit when I purchased it. The next cheapest elsewhere online had a delivery charge equal to a month of prime. So...

Spindle had worn an irregular hole in the supporting arm.I fitted the new brass bush quickly and easily. Much cheaper than a new machine, works as good as new.

Il pezzo in foto si è consumato dopo 4-5 cicli di asciugatrice. Sarò costretto a cambiarlo nuovamente!
