Vacmaster VJE1412SW0201 Beast Professional Series 14 Gal. 6.5 HP Steel Tank Wet/Dry Vac with Cart

My old Shop Vac brand vacuum finally died after a few years of me abusing it as a dust collection system for one of my woodworking tools... So, I did a little research and decided to grab this Vacmaster vacuum for the nice high peak HP and generally good reviews. I'm happy to say I think I made the right choice. This thing has PLENTY of power and does a great job at clean up and the occasional wood chip extraction I put it through. While it's pretty big, it's easy to roll around thanks to the wheels and I like the setup it has for wrapping the vacuum line around the top of the unit. There are plenty of attachments, honestly more than I will probably use... and the vacuum suction is enough that it REALLY pulls through some of those smaller ones when you're vacuuming up the floor, etc. Over all a very versatile vacuum system with tons of suction and the stainless tank should last forever. It's definitely quieter than my old Shop Vac, which is appreciated by everyone in the shop.

I had similar Shop-Vac brand for many years. Every time I went to use it it was like trying to pull around and unruly dog. It seemed to have a mind of its own. It's Wheels would go eight different directions all at the same time. It was also extremely noisy. This vacuum is the most powerful Shop-Vac I've ever used it is surprisingly SUPER quiet and it rolls with absolute ease. I would give this my highest recommendation. By this and you will not be disappointed. UPDATE. We have a large dog which we bathe regularly and use this vacuum as a blower to dry him. The vacuum has a separate port that you can connect the tubing to to act as a blower instead of a vacuum. I simply took out the filter and filter bag and placed this little heater Amazon basics heater inside and turned it on and used it as a giant hair blower to dry our dog. It works fantastic.

I almost never write an Amazon review, but I liked this vacuum so much I wanted to share my experience with it--I bought it to replace an aging "Rigid Pro" shop vac. The power rating (6.5hp) is the same as my Rigid, but the performance with "The Beast" is much better (I would bet that the motors are all made by the same parts manufacturer because all the top vacs have a 6.5HP rating--its in the overall design where the big differences are). Pros: Very quiet Very powerful suction High quality parts (except for the hose) Large rear wheels are a blessing Great design for storage, snapping the top on and off, changing a bag or filter, storing the cord, hose and tools Cons: Cheap extruded hose just like every Vac out there No brush attachment I use this vac in my woodshop attached to a 18' flex hose on a reel. That means that the suction is reduced due to the length of the hose. I can tell from this machine that it can grab a lot more dust and debris in the crevices of my tools than the old Rigid with the same power rating. But even if it were just the same, the Vacmaster beats the Rigid hands down in the following ways: --It is much more quiet, perhap[s by half or more --It is much easier to move around (whoever designed vacs with those tiny wheels never tried to use one in a shop where there are extension cords laying all over and chunks of wood) because of the large rear wheels --The actual vacuum itself is thoughtfully designed with a place to store the hose, a great cord storage system that cost the manufacturer extra they really didn't have to provide but they did, the latch system to get the lid on and off just snaps instead of having to fight with the side handles, a great attachment bag--everything looks like it will go for the long haul --The only area I would recommend thinking about adding to this machine is the actual vacuum hose itself. Its the normal extruded 2.5" crappy flex hose about five or six feet long with attachments but no brush attachment. I am totally satisfied with the value here interns of what i got for what I paid--its super, but if you don't have a longer, superior hose system, you are going to need to go on Amazon and buy one, and that is true for EVERY vacuum on the market--there are just no good hoses that come with these machines. Bottom line--This is the right vac for a shop or garage, more than worth the price which is actually cheaper than some other brands. I am tired or poorly designed, cheaply made tools and gear--this is as good as it gets, better than I hoped and so worth the price!

Performs well. Isnt too loud considering the power. The wheels and accessories are trash, like they came off a barbie accessory kit from 1995. The wheels especially. Held together by cotter pins that don't stay put. The hose attachments and such just feel of poor quality and the shape of them leads to frustration (like Duplo blocks, just big and clumsy feeling) The unit is too big to fit into my car so it just lives in my garage.

This is a very good shop vac! I tried others and they do not have the suction this one has. This is my second one to buy. I have 2 homes with shops. A shop vac is a very important tool to have. This one is a beast!

We use this vacuum professionally in a cleaning business. Relatively quiet easy to use. Very lightweight. We had to get a replacement shipped the way it is packaged is not very well. The handles on the sides are directly touching the cardboard on the outside of the box so out of two vacuums that we got both of the handles were broken and we had to snap them back on and ask for a replacement for one. I’m not sure why the manufacture does not protect the handles on the sides. If the handles are broken you cannot latch down the top and it will not suck properly. I was expecting it to be mostly put together but you will need to spend at least 20 minutes assembling everything. They give you one bag which is nice and is useful it is way easier to dispose of if you buy the bags that go with it. I don’t recommend just using the vac filter because it will get plugged fairly quickly and you will have to clean it which is hard unless you have compressed air. Did not come with the wet pick up filter. Easy to wind up your hose and to carry attachments. This thing can suck up almost anything that we have tried. We have other vacuums from the same manufacture they are very reliable and durable. I would recommend.

Worked great a couple of times. Now the suction power is terrible. Filter and everything clean can't find any air leaks. Just poor performance totally worthless vacuum.

I'm glad I decided to get this vac, looks sturdy and has all attachments you need included. Has the power suction of a jet engine " just kidding" but it has a lot of suction. No complaints at all. It comes partially assembled.

drywall dust - no problem this thing is powerful and there is no exhaust redusting VERY VERY HAPPY use to clean the hot tub too UPDATE: 4 years later - still perfect for all my jobs!

We used it now a couple of times, and I can say it’s a beast for sure! I’m happy it came with a bag, and we’re going to buy more of them, to keep the inside as clean as possible.
