If you have plants in your tanks, you need this
This is the ideal plant fertilizer for tropical aquariums, at least in the US. It is the only liquid fertilizer that I have seen that is comprehensive, which means it has all the nutrients needed for plant growth and in the right proportions. Most fertilizers I have seen only contain a couple, for example Iron and Potassium (Potash). Flourish has in it:Total Nitrogen 0.07%Available Phosphate ( P2O5) 0.01%Soluble Potash 0.37%Calcium (Ca) 0.14%Magnesium (Mg) 0.11%Sulfur (S) 0.2773%Boron (B) 0.009%Chlorine (Cl) 1.15%Cobalt (Co) 0.0004%Copper (Cu) 0.0001%Iron (Fe) 0.32%Manganese (Mn) 0.0118%Molybdenum (Mo) 0.0009%Sodium (Na) 0.13%Zinc (Zn) 0.0007%The dose for this is pretty minimal, so if all you have is a single tank of small to moderate size you should just get the 250 mL or 500 mL bottle. As an example, a 20g tank only needs a dose of 1.6 mL per week so a 250 mL bottle would last you 156 weeks which is a little short of 3 years! The good news is, this product does not expire so having it around for that long is not an issue. If you have a large tank, you can get Flourish in a larger bottle. I have a 125g, 20g, 10g, and 5g aquarium to dose weekly so I use the 2 L bottle. Plus, if you look at price, a 2 L bottle is far cheaper than buying four 500 mL bottles. So buy in bulk if you need it, it won't go bad! I do keep mine in the refrigerator though. The label says you don't need to, but I figure there must be some reason they recommend it.Tip: Add your Flourish 24 hours after your weekly water change. The reason being most water conditioners will bind to 'heavy metals' of which flourish does contain some (for example copper). Plants need this, so you want to keep it available to them. Don't worry about your fish, the levels are extremely low.Second Tip: If you have moderate to bright lighting, you may wish to try doing two doses a week. Light and nutrients must remain in balance, or you'll have algae issues.

Impressive!
I'm a noveous to the hobby and I found this product easy to use. I agree with some of the other comments to use a syringe for measuring the doses. If you have kids like me those are plentiful. The results on day one are obviously positive and safe for invertebrates is a plus.

I would of given this product 5 stars due to the fact that it was successful in growing my plants with only minimal damage to my tank. Any liquid fertz you add to your tank will upset the chemistry within it affecting the living creatures within. This fert didnt hamr my fish (11 Discus) however it totally cleaned out my tank of every last snail. I had about 500 trumpet snails which had reproduced from only 3. They where a slight eye soar but they where beneficial in that the aerated my gravel. Besides the snails this product killed it... Literally.

Been using this for e decade
Easiest way to keep a planted tank healthy when properly maintained, last years and MUCH cheaper in this quantity. We only have a few tanks but all are planted. Use a substrate like CaribSea Eco-Complete for a maximum effect since it will absorb this once its initial supply is used. I was having failure after failure in the planted coffee table tank but it now uses that substrate and this freshwater plant supplement. It now looks like a jungle. I have a different approach in my other tanks but all use a LITTLE of their Prime for water changes and then this.
