Threads and opening are wrong for oil tank use. Directions are completely unintelligible and useless. There is no way to connect the app to the device therefore making it useless. Yes, I watched the out-of-focus and illegible video that was included to help compensate for the limited technology (2.4GHz only). Huge dissapointment.

Great when it works but worked only for about a week and then lost the WiFi connection. Power cycling brings it back but it then only works for a few days and same thing happens. Very disappointed as I was hopeful this would make a great solution to my water softener salt tank monitor.

Omg, after wasting money on three units of the previous model and all failing after first heavy rainfall, i was really hoping this IP67 version will do the trick. Not to be! One week after installing, rain fell and it stopped working! It’s all garbage. Update - turns out it was not water getting into the device but rather that the device was losing signal from the wifi router. It is in a remote location so I am going to install an outdoor wifi booster antenna and will monitor.

Worked fine for 3 weeks. After that, no matter how many times I reset, reinstall the app, add/delete devices - it just won’t stay connected to WiFi. It’s not the WiFi issue; I was testing it 2 ft away from the WiFi extender. I am returning it.

I have five of these sensors powered by the optional solar panel. Pros: Installation and setup goes pretty quickly, and they most often work out of the box. Cons: -I have had three of them fail after just a few months of use - the sensors themselves seem to be the failure, the device does remain connected to the network and transmit data, but they start producing buggy readings and then simply read 0% after a few more weeks. -Their weatherproofing is poor at best. I had to fashion a cover for them to endure the hot sun/thunderstorms. -The software is buggy. When the sensor is working it accurately reports water levels, but the included graphing function has never worked properly.

Seems like the unit as well built, but I will be returning it without even trying it because the value is in the unit working without needing to download an app and paying a subscription fee in order to use the unit dollars they still want to nickel and dime you for the application in order to have the privilege of using their product. No thanks and cannot recommend

How in the world do you add this device to your app. It will not discover it and no manual sensor option I choose works

This level instrument works well to measure the height of the water in my well tank that supplies my house. It was pretty easy to install, although it took a couple of tries to get it to connect to my Wi-Fi. Be sure that your phone is set to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and your Bluetooth is on. I never saw it connect to Bluetooth on my phone, however in the Smart Life app it did connect smoothly. It measures level in inches. My complaint regards the chart of water level in the app. The chart should be scaled to show a range of 0 to 100% for the tank and not rescale it to the high and low for each day. It's hard to compare one day to the next one everyone has a different scale. Also, I think the chart should record a sample at least every 5 or 10 minutes instead of once an hour so that a true trend is displayed that makes more sense. If the chart function were corrected I would have given this five stars.
