Good Quality Air cooler for a decent price!
I purchased this Air Cooler on the 11th May. Arrived in perfect condition the next day. Followed the very clear and simple instructions provided within the box which took 5-10 mins max to get it set up. Initially was very sceptical about how effective this Air cooler would be however I am very overwhelmed at how good it is. The item comes with 2 Ice packs which need freezing on arrival and a detachable section to insert water if wanted. The Air cooler works well without using the water system just like a typical fan would but you would be greatly surprised at how good the ice cold water helps the Air cooler blow chilly air around the room. I’ve since bought further Ice packs and now run the Air cooler with 4 ice packs at a time with another 4 in the freezer so I can swap and change without delay. A typical fan will blow ambient temperature air in your direction giving you a feeling that you’re cooling down however if you sit in front of this for a few minutes with it running on max fan speed + ice water it gets very chilly!! Yes it’s not going to be anywhere near a fully installed AC Unit but for the UK that’s perhaps a bit over the top in my opinion. I use this item in a relatively small room 13m x 9m and after approx 1-2 hours there is a good noticeable difference in temperature compared to other rooms in the house. Sort of feels like walking into a small chiller room if you’ve ever experienced that. No more sweaty nights and it’s really quiet on Sleep mode so doesn’t keep you awake if you’re a light sleeper. Have used previous Dreo Heaters in the past so I know the brand can deliver good products and this is another great example. Very pleased.

Honest review – it works, but read this before buying (UK humidity warning)
I’m pleased with this cooling fan – in fact, it’s allowed my wife and me to get some proper, restful sleep during this third heatwave. I would have given it 4.5 stars if that option existed, not because it’s failed us, but because it has a few quirks. More on those in a moment. The reality of evaporative cooling in the UK First, the science. Evaporative cooling works brilliantly in hot, dry climates – if incoming humidity is around 20%, you could see a temperature drop of roughly 10°C. But here in the UK, daytime humidity rarely drops below 30–40%, and at night it often sits at 60–80%. In those conditions, expect a more modest drop of about 4–5°C. That said, in our reasonably sized double bedroom, we’ve both slept comfortably with it running on the humidification setting at mid-fan speed. We followed the instructions carefully: bedroom window slightly open, bedroom door open too. That cross-flow is essential to stop the room from becoming overly humid, and we haven’t found that to be an issue at all – I put that down to the natural airflow from the open window. The "fiddly" bit – the water reservoir This is where the design gets a little tricky. The reservoir is a slide-in drawer in the base, holding about 4 litres of water. Attached to the bottom is a small pump with a hose and electrical cable, which sends a steady trickle of water up to the cooling plate at the top. You can pull the drawer out part-way, but the flexible pipe stops it from coming all the way out. To fully detach it, you have to reach into the bottom of the drawer, unclip the pump unit, and then carry the whole drawer to the tap. The problems? 4 litres is heavy, the drawer is bulky and doesn’t fit under every tap, and refitting the pump means submerging your hands to clip it back into place – all possible, but undeniably fiddly. My solution – and I stole this from another reviewer – was to buy a simple 2-litre plastic kitchen jug and fill the reservoir without ever disconnecting it. Much easier. A note on the freezer blocks You’re supposed to freeze the supplied cooling blocks for around 8 hours and pop them into the reservoir before adding water (otherwise you can’t gauge the correct fill level). They do seem to help – I experimented with four blocks one night, and although the water ran out after about 6 hours, the air definitely felt cooler. My one gripe is that they simply float around loose in the drawer; a simple clip-in cage would have been a much better design. The bottom line Does it work? Yes – on a couple of nights we actually had to switch it off halfway through because the bedroom got too cold, then back on again a few hours later when it warmed up. So it can genuinely make a difference. My advice to potential buyers: • Don’t expect air-con levels of cooling, especially in humid UK conditions. • Follow the positioning instructions carefully – that open window for airflow is non-negotiable if you don’t want a very humid bedroom. • Use a jug to fill the reservoir and save yourself the hassle. • On the plus side, it’s very quiet, which for sleep is a huge win.

Pretty good fan & pretty quiet. The water reservoir is a bit tricky to clean but still a good buy
It’s not a aircon system and does cool the air like an air conditioner but it does blow cool air at you and is quiet enough for sleeping at lower fan modes

Really cools the room
Wonderful cooler. Easy to put together, comes with 2 ice packs. The fan does not scare my Cat, she lays where she can feel the cool air. It did struggle when it was 34 outside, but, I refilled the water reserve with chilled water. I struggle in the heat due to my medication, so can adjust the fan directly at me. Very happy.

Disappointing
Barely moves the air around and it is not really cooling unless it blows directly at you… in close proximity as like I said barely moves the air. Very disappointing, I was expecting a bit more for that price. Do not recomend.

Works really well to cool me down
First time buying a tower fan for my London flat. This fan does surprisingly well in cooling me down! I sometimes even use it to sleep in hot summer nights where I’d be sweating in my sleep otherwise. It’s only got a quiet hum which is much appreciated as someone who is a light sleeper.

Bonne qualité
Très satisfait de mon achat, ca ne rafraichi pas autant qu'une climatisation, mais ca donne un courant d'air plus frais qu'un ventilateur classique, il est très silencieux. J'en ai recommander un 2èm pour ma mère.

Its a fan, not a cooler
Bad design, does not cool, not easy to clean. The tank has wire in it and its unsafe. Avoid at all cost

Would recommend to anyone!
Easy to setup, works amazingly! I live in a dry climate area, my upstairs is usually way hotter than downstairs so I bought this for my bedroom and it fulfilled exactly what I needed. I absolutely can't sleep in the heat and this thing is perfect made my upstairs bedroom feel like my downstairs living room as far as temperature goes. Not too loud at all and with the ice pack in it, it's even colder.

Klare Empfehlung
Für den Sommer unsere Rettung. Tut was er soll, Preis Leistung ist vollkommen ausreichend.
