Adds a touch of shimmer!
These were perfect for adding a light, softly color-toned shimmer on white watercolor paper. Perfect for finishing touches. They added some cool effects to a “flat” watercolor painting - giving it dimension and light effects. Also experimented with applying these directly to black watercolor; although they hold up (opaque enough to be easily seen), only the pearl lightness shows, the soft delicate colors are lost. Even so, their pearly shimmer is awesome and created a beautiful piece!

Good quality paint. The paint goes a long way and will last a long time.
I used it for Minwha. Without an undercoating, the pearl colors appear similar. For a good result, I suggest laying down a base coat in watercolor paint. For example, Paint the non-pearl blue first, and then paint the blue pearl from this set on top. It is challenging to paint other watercolors on top of the pearl paint; it beads. The dragon above is entirely from this pallet. I varied the color pallet by changing the underpainting color. The pallet arrived in good condition. It will last a long time.

Not worth it
The colors are nice but the brushes couldn't be cheesier. Overall not worth 20 bucks.

Boku undo
A wonderful set of beautiful colors of boku-un-do company, it's unique and simply beautiful. It would be amazing if they will sell the whole series of metallic colors.

Beautiful pastel metalic/pearl watercolor paints
This Nihonga Sumi-e Watercolor paint pan set has absolutly beautiful colors. They are translucent, and metallic/pearl and seem to glow. I Would classify this set as a pastel set. I use these in my card making and scrapbooking. The pop of these paints are just so lovely. These are the japanese full pans which are huge compared to a regular full pan.I find that I truly get my moneys worth with Japanese watercolors.

Nice surprise
I was surprised by these because most pearlescent paints show up well on black paper. These did not. However, they look great on white paper. The orange does not look orange to me. It looks more like a creamy coral. They are lovely.

製品は、顔料とでんぷんと膠でできているらしい。水を含ませると簡単に筆にのる。乾けば指で触れても大丈夫だが、水溶性のニスを試しに塗ったところ、描いた絵がすべて流れてしまった。

母用に購入しました パールが綺麗ですし絵手紙のアクセントに良いのではないでしょうか 創作意欲が湧くようでかなり喜んでました 赤は赤というよりピンク？朱色？っぽい赤ですね
