The ultimate short sword: excellent blade, full tang, lovely grip/hilt
I can't praise this enough. Whoever designed this is most brilliant! Simply to write that this is an IMPRESSIVE short sword is insufficient. I can see no room for improvement: it's the ultimate short sword, perfect in grip, balance, edge, and point. The fit of blade to guard is perfectly tight w/ no gaps. The tang extends through the entire hilt and is visibly peened at the pommel. The feel of the grip is outstanding: the hand-tight feel of a Kabar is here increased by many times; your hand doesn't want to let go of this! Compare this hilt to that of a Roman gladius: it's remarkably similar. The blade is true Damascus, very light in weight (a characteristic of Damascus), and is finely sharpened (order this sharpened; Damascus is NOT easy to sharpen). Damascus, due to its layering of different hardness steels, has micro-serrations, a bit like the teeth of a great white shark, and will slice to a staggering effect: this will cut a hair, or paper edge on. Damascus will not flex - do not try to flex it! It can chip, and rust (different layers are more/less susceptible to rust) - hence, it absolutely MUST be kept oiled. And if you keep it in a leather sheath, visit it occasionally and apply more oil w/ a rag, wiping from the spine toward the edge and point, but leave it liberally coated. If you cut yourself on the edge, take extraordinary care to remove all blood from the blade, because it is so irregular (micro-serrated). Any small trace of blood will rust it rapidly. Rust is very difficult to remove from Damascus; some people use Naval Petroleum Jelly, and then rinse, dry, heat briefly, wipe to remove all of the NPJ; immediately re-oil. You have to frequently care for Damascus! It's virtue in the Early Middle Ages was that it is incredibly light and strong, keeping a stunningly sharp edge! This short sword is quite authentic, and is absolutely lovely: solid, graceful, and couldn't be more purposeful. The visual effect ("optics") of this weapon is very impressive: it looks Celtic or Roman. This is brilliant, in all respects. (Frankly, it is worth at least half again more than these sellers have it priced at.) And it's made in England, which adds greatly to it's appeal. I bought a second one of these: the first had been a gift; this second one was for myself. I strongly suggest that you buy one of these, before they're gone. Respectfully,

Excellent value and build quality!
Very quick ship, very sharp, very nice Damascus steel throughout, very tight grip, very protective saran like wrapping to protect steel from any moisture - I am very pleased with the quality, fit and finish of this knife for the cost.

Its as Kick butt as it looks in the pics
Usually I have been disappointed with a lot of my buys on Amazon lately with cheap stuff from China but this hunting knife is probably the coolest looking knife I own and I have a good bit even 100 dollar Ka-bars and others. If you fantasize about going into some old antique shop and finding some cool ass knife from 100+ years ago with metal and wood handle or traveling abroad to some old town in Europe to find something handmade then no need to wonder if you would ever come across one. You can get it online now.... It could be used a ritual type knife or one for one's alter if your into that sort of thing. The leather is nice as well like described "hand made". Like one I would go into a old man's leather shop and ask him to make for me for whatever amount. I have prob average sized hands not big or small. and the groves fit perfectly for me for all my fingers. Im 5'9.5 180 190ish. The design of the fold is nice only one little small defect if you could call it that is a slight fade in the middle of the blade with the natural fold/pattern of Damascus design but other than that pretty awesome. The rest of the pattern is dark and right. Especially for the price you cant beat it imo.... Ive paid 40 50 60 bucks for small kershaw knives on amazon or some other brands. this one is 10x the knife of those in my opinion. I dont want to overdo it but I may buy one or two of their other ones bc this one is so cool.

Did not receive what was advertised
I ordered 2 knives that were described as being 15 in. Long and what I received was two knives that were 11 1/2 in. Long. Quite a difference!! The knives were nice but I was expecting 15 in. Knives as described. So there you have it.

Excellent quality and craftsmanship I love it
I’ve purchased several different Poshland knives and this one has to be my fave. Everything about this knife’s design I love. The overall look and feel of a mini gladius sword especially. And I don’t know why anyone would have anything negative at all to say about the handle. I get a great grip whenever I grab the thing and there’s even room for a hand and half hold if you ever needed it, it’s gorgeous. The knife is well balanced and the blade is beautifully crafted out two steels proven for their quality and ability as blade steels. Overall it’s just an incredible, sturdy, and well crafted handsome knife. Can’t wait until I get my hands on Poshland’s full length gladius.

Nice Blade Cheap Handle
Very nice looking blade. Came nice and sharp! No shipping damage. Only complaint i got is the handle. It feels cheap but then again this isn't an expensive knife. All and all very good appearance.

Not Damascus needs plenty of finish work
Firstly this blade is not damascus, it is laser etched and not properly tempered either. The handle still has rough edges and needs finishing. The sheath is rawhide and very stiff and rigid. Over all once a favor bit of time is spent finishing the handle and fixing other flaws it is a well balanced blade and a solid weight

Wonderful
This is very reminiscent of a Scottish Dirk. I am commissioning a wooden "sheath" to increase the Scottish influence

Surprisingly heavy, nice despite rust
Took forever to arrive. When it did, the blade was rusty! Thankfully its still pretty, and sharp. Decent weight and material quality as well. Actually surprised. Quality for cost? Not sure. Wouldnt buy it again... and glad that I got it on sale.
