Wood Stove Catalytic Combustor for Dutchwest 2461 Wood Stove Parts

I was a little skeptical about this cheaper combustor, but after a season of use, it has worked fine. I don't think it quite compares to a Condor brand combustor, but it's close, and a lot cheaper, and I can live with that. Right now, I would call it a recommended item.

A good product for the price

This "combuster" has no catalyst. It never ignites, no matter how hot you get it. The low price was a red flag, but I took the chance anyway. It fits my Dutchwest 2641 only if I leave the external gasket off of it. With a gasket around it, it was impossible to get it seated low enough to put the refractory housing over it. I won't get fooled again. Platinum and Vanadium Pentoxide are expensive, so a good catalytic converter is going to cost over $100.

This converter seems to be of excellent quality. Looks durable and fit my stove perfectly. The reason for my 2 star review is because it did not appear to do its primary function and return the flue gases. I measured my stack temperature before and after I engaged the converter and saw no change.

Worked ok worked ok no problem

It works, but it is sluggish. Has been hard to get it to 1000 degrees even with super dry wood. Get what you pay for. If it was my main heater I would buy better. For my basement its ok
