This sturdy little gadget is no toy (I bought the Boska Holland Partyclette Explore Mini Raclette, Black). It works really well and makes nice bubbling hot cheese right next to my breakfast, lunch, dinner plate in minutes, or at my campsite. No need for a cumbersome raclette grill to drag out, set up and find an extension cord to plug into. It comes with a spatula and 3 tealights, and though it does melt cheesel, it melts very slowly, and doesn't bubble the way I like. So I made an easy improvement and added a 4th tealight (short metal cup type) and VOILA!, I had pefect bubbly melted cheese in just a couple of minutes! So, I suggest 4 tealights instead of only 3 for cheese. If you're going to melt chocolate, I think 3 tealights would be perfect though. I love that it's light weight and the base folds up, as does the handle, for compact storage. This will be easy to carry on our many hiking trips this summer, or in the motorhome off-grid. Set-up is beyond easy, and the sturdy base holds the cheese pan securely. Someone commented that the base sides keep falling down. I haven't had this issue. I think it's because maybe they didn't snap them into position with a gentle push outward on each side. They do stay in position then. I also like that the pan itself can be placed directly onto a BBQ grill or hot coals at our campsite to melt the cheese. One of the reasons I wanted one without a wooden handle, it's non combustible and versatile! My favorite recipe so far is melting some aged havarti and goat cheese and then serving it "American-style" on a flour tortilla. I prepare a flour tortilla by cutting into 4 wedges and then toast for a minute in my toaster oven until puffed-up and crispy. Sides don’t want to stand up, but that was easily solved with just a bit of bamboo I snipped from the yard to jam in along one of the short sides. It’s about 2 5/8” wide. Anything relatively stiff you can cut to that length will work for the same purpose, like a piece of scrap wood or even just a plastic drinking straw would work. Otherwise it works great. Cheese melted fine with the three tea light candles and slid off easily.

I was watching. French series on Prime and the characters were eating raclette in a local restaurant. I had visited France quite often when I was young and had forgotten all about raclette. It’s a delicious dish where they melt cheese at the table and pour it over meat and veggies. It’s basically an excuse to eat melted cheese! And why not?! So I looked it up on Amazon and they actually had a raclette set. I had to get one. I just tried it for the first time this past week. WOW! It’s so much fun. Cook anything that you like paired with cheese. Sit around the table and melt the cheese (they have it at Trader Joe’s and Ralph’s) and then pour away. It’s the French version of cheese fondue except that the French don’t bother with all that dipping. They just pour the whole fondue out on their plates….🤣

The warmer itself is nice, the tea lights (candles) it comes with are very temperamental. I accidentally bumped the device while the candles were lit, and 1 of the candles went out (the wick folded itself back into the melted wax). While GENTLY trying to unfold the wick it pops out the bottom holder making the wick fall completely out of the candle. I had another tea light (candle), but since it was a different type of candle/wax with a much shorter wick, the 3rd candle pretty much didn't work. Either use your own candles or be VERY careful with theirs. It did seem to clean up pretty easy though.

I received this product on April 29. It cannot be used because the part of the tea light holder that is supposed to hold up the rectangular pan keeps collapsing. So it does not feel safe to use when you are melting raclette and it collapses. It is now May 9, and I am trying to return the item for the reasons above. And I am being told that this defective item cannot be returned.

tout simplement génial! il me sert même parfois à la maison au lieu de faire chauffer le gros appareil quand je suis seule. Par contre, la qualité des bougies est important pour un bon fonctionnement, surtout quand on est en bivouac et qu'il fait froid.

Ist schon unser zweiter, super um einen schönen Abend auf dem Campingplatz zu verbringen. Es entschleunigt sehr, daher der zweite.

Très pratique quand on est seul ou à deux. Cela evite de sortir le gros appareil… En outre se plie facilement et facile à ranger. Je recommande

J'ai acheté 2 de ces raclettes pour en profiter au camping, ça a été un très bon moment en famille, très conviviale et chaleureux, le charme de la bougie y est pour quelque chose ! En revanche, il ne faut pas s'attendre à un temps de chauffe aussi rapide qu'une machine électrique, je dirai que c'est 2 fois plus long, mais cela permet de manger plus lentement 😜. Bon appétit.
