Blommer Jet Black Cocoa Powder from OliveNation - 32 ounces

This is very dark, although not black. Regardless, I am still very pleased with the final presentation. I made a quick chocolate cake when I received this, and then made dark cocoa buttercream with the same cocoa. The flavor of the cake is somewhat muted, and has similar notes to dark chocolate or even baker's chocolate. Has a distinctly mature or romantic flavor compared to standard cocoa powder. The buttercream turned out a similar shade of black-brown. Delightful flavor together with the cake. Was wonderful chilled. I included photos with and without a flash to give contrast. In some light, specifically fluorescent, it appeared quite dark. A flash, however, literally shone light on the trick and revealed it to be a very dark brown. Most people I shared the cake with enjoyed it and remarked about how dark it was, so I would say the wow factor was a success! I can't say if adding more cocoa will darken whatever you put it in more, but I will say that while my cake wasn't black as far, it was still very very dark and would look beautiful alongside any color you put against it.

This Onyx Cocoa Powder is EXACTLY How it's described and is fabulous. It is almost black and it's less expensive than the other onyx cocoa powder I had been using. Don't listen to reviews that say it isnt what it's described as. I'm an avid onyx cocoa powder baker, buyer and cook and this brand is both excellent, decadently dark, and bang for your buck. I'll buy this from now on. It looks exactly like the amazon picture shows and the bigger the size/amount you buy the cheaper. Onyx cocoa powder is hard to find and expensive, so this product rocks and I'll be buying it again in a bigger size as soon as I'm out. It makes great dark cocoa brownies, oreo dark chocolate milk, great in dark chocolate decadent cheesecakes.

Good looking black cocoa I'll update more once I use it. Decent price considering the cost of things for the last 2 years.

I get many questions about how I get what I made so dark. I have bought this black cocoa twice now. I use it anytime cocoa is asked for in a recipe. I like the flavor it gives to my cakes and the deep dark cocoa color. If you are looking for black cocoa to give that Oreo color and flavor, then but this.

I needed to order black cocoa for a cake I was making and this is one of the higher quality I've received! I love the way it tastes as it has a rich cocoa flavor and I use it for all my chocolate deserts now!

Good product. The flavor is a bit intense. I used half of it with half of regular cocoa and it was just right.

LOVE THIS!! I own a bakery & my supplier discontinued black cocoa so I tried this. It works great with my cake batter, cookie dough & buttercream. FYI: Other reviewers have issue with color, black cocoa is "very dark brown", it's not actually black. I read an issue with bitter taste as well, cocoa is not sweet until you add sugar (even sweetened cocoa isn't to be eaten on its own).

I don't know what ML in the earlier review received but this is BLACK as can be. I have ordered a couple of times and love the darkness. This allows me to make my French Macarons and frosting without having to add copious amounts off UN-natural food coloring which flavors the end results. This has a mellow flavor so if you are looking for a HUGE chocolate kick because of the color, you wont get that. You will get a nice subtle cocoa flavor and fantastic color.
