Is this holder magnetic?

No, it’s not. It attaches to the phone through a strong adhesive backing. It stays put and I love that it’s flat and not bulky. Also easy to slip my finger into it & securely hold my phone (especially when traveling).

Is this safe enough for a +$1k phone?

I have been using this product on 2 phones for a year without issue. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying. Alcohol wipes are a good idea to remove oil. Do not try to reuse. Be sure to stick in the location for best use for your phone use habits. I wish I had placed mine closer to the bottom of the phone for easier keyboard use.

Has anyone used this on an iPad mini. I actually want to use on iPad mini during photoshoots to tether and clients can see photos on a bigger screen

I haven’t but I bet that would work. I absolutely love it on my iphone. Don’t even know it’s there unless you turn it over. I slip my finger, sometimes two in & feels like butter. After a couple yrs I replaced because it understandably stretches out discolors some.
