I originally didn’t think to write a review on this product because I was afraid that over the months I would not like it. But considering I’m on repurchase number three, there must be something about it that makes me feel that it’s worth it. I moved away from relaxed here over a decade ago. And if you know how to deal with any type of curly or type for hair, then you know it’s no joke. Curls and fairy knots simply twist into one another all the time. And I was really getting sick of the ferry nuts. Also dealing with split ends can be quite the pain and detangling is always a much longer task than it should be. So with that, a girlfriend of mine who also has type for hair recommended that I tried this product to help lessen the amount of fairy nuts and help with the detangler process. She said that for her she would apply it just like a relaxer, but it would not permanently straighten her hair. So I tried it. The very first time I looked at the amount of ounces that comes in this thing and thought for sure there is no way there’s enough product to get my complete head of hair done. And I kind of feel I was right. They really need to update this to 2 1/2 ounces at minimum for us girls with a lot of hair. I found that the shampoo and conditioner was enough, but the treatment itself is never enough. AnyWho, the shampoo is one that truly strips the hair of all oils and product. No problem with it at all as it had a good smell and good lather to it. I’ve always used the entire bottle just to make sure I’m operating on a squeaky clean head of hair. I’ve also made sure to read all of the instructions to a T. When it comes to the actual application of the treatment, I saw many people complaining about how it burned, their eyes or how strong it was. And I absolutely thought that they had to be lying. But they are not!!! You should absolutely be using gloves and some form of an air filter or ventilation system when applying this treatment to your hair. That would be the middle bottle labeled step two. It might look like nothing, but if you hold it up to your nose or your eyes, which I hope that you never do, just know that it will absolutely burn! While applying it to my hair, and I absolutely tried my very, very best to put the least amount on as possible, I realized as a strand of my hair got close to my eyes, that this product was no joke. I literally started crying. My eyes watered so bad. I wish I had done this outside! And once I turned the blow dryer on the low setting or cool setting as recommended in the instructions to make sure the product was completely dried on my hair, I realize that the entire room will fill with the smell. This must be the same smell that happens when you go to the Dominican salons because it was strong. Again, I highly recommend a well ventilated room or having an air filter and air vent on at the exact same time. The amount of fumes that you cannot see but you can absolutely smell in your eyes will burn is worth a face mask and goggles. I’m not exaggerating. For me the most fuming portion of my process was turning on my flat iron to flat iron the product into my hair, as that is what happens with most keratin treatments. That is when the true fumes and irritation can begin. Once I learned the trick of turning on the vent and having an air purifier in the room, it was a lot better for me and it got much easier. But on another note, keep in mind the temperature that you use for your flat iron because it does recommend a very high heat of over 400° which is extremely hot. I’ve had other professional stylists recommend a slightly lower temperature between 350 and 395 but they also had to do several passes along the hair in order to ensure that it was ironed on from root to tip. In my eyes, I would much rather that because I don’t want to burn the hair. In the step where it tells you to watch the hair out is where I realized that it had worked. I could feel how smooth my hair was the smell did not last. And the conditioner was quite softening. My final flat iron was an absolute breeze and so was the blow dry. I have found that reapplying this product on type four hair at the same timeframe that you would a relaxer, meaning every 10 to 12 weeks or maybe a little longer if you can, is worth the price. For example, if you had a relaxer that was professionally done in a salon and paid at least $100-$150 out the door every 10 to 12 weeks in comparison to paying lesson $50 and doing it yourself. Then you can see how this can really add up. I’m sad this thing never goes on sale. Otherwise I would buy a few of them and put it under my cabinet in the bathroom for future use. I can honestly say the very first time I was scared as heck so I did it to the tea, but my results were amazing. Bad keratin treatment lasted me 14 to 16 weeks. And because I’ve gotten better with the application process I’m at the point where I can stretch it to about 18 to 20 weeks. I will never go back to a relaxer again as long as this product is available to me. And while I complain and you read all of that other stuff above about how my eyes were watering and I was crying in the fumes and having good ventilation, I must say this is one of the better products that I have experienced on the market. My fairy nuts are gone. I still have to trim my ends regularly, but I have slightly less split ends. My silk presses come out very well. Humidity doesn’t hit me nearly as bad as it could. And my ponytail has that swing to it! I love it. If you are second-guessing, whether this will work for you, I would say it’s worth less than 50 bucks to try it at least once before going to a Dominican salon or your regular stylist to pay a lot more. Just try it. And if you don’t like this particular brand maybe there is another one out there for you. But overall, this one definitely gets the job done in a one time application if you need that type of service. Your hair will be shiny. You will like the smell of the conditioner, not the treatment. And overall, your results in smoothness will be a lot more visible and manageable. So give it a shot. And give me a thumbs up if you agree that it’s worth a try.

My review will have some details, so I hope you find it helpful. My hair is curly and thick, so I've always treated it and gone to the salon to maintain it. Last October, I dyed it and got a treatment for a party, and since then, I hadn't done anything else to it. Since everything has gone up in price and the treatments I get are expensive, I decided to look for another way to properly care for my hair without damaging it and without spending the same amount of time I do at the salon (5 hours). I decided to look on Amazon for different keratin treatments that were as good as the ones at the salon. I read a lot of reviews because I usually compare prices, and that way I can decide if the product is worth the advertised price. I normally spend between $80 and $150 per treatment every three months, and I wash and dry it at home since I have everything I need to style it. I found this Kerason product, and it seemed to have the same technique and process they use at the salon (the difference is that you have to straighten it, wash it again, and dry it all on the same day). So I bought it and did my hair myself, just like at the salon. I ordered the $69 treatment because my hair is shoulder-length and the product was 2 oz, but I think next time I'll buy two treatments to make sure I don't run out. (But I used a tip I read, and the 2 oz was enough for all my hair.) Since I already had to dye my hair, I did it first because the instructions say to dye it first and then do the keratin treatment. Then, another day, I washed my hair again and used the clarifying shampoo that comes with the treatment, and I blow-dried it completely. Then I started the keratin treatment, dividing my hair into four sections. (TIP) Since the bottle was 2 oz, I poured 1/4 of the keratin into a bowl and mixed it with a little water, as the product is quite thick. This allowed me to treat all of my hair, right down to the ends, and you should wear gloves until you're ready to straighten it. The product has a smell, but it's tolerable. You should wear a face mask, as it will irritate your eyes quite a bit, so you need to be in a well-ventilated area if you want to do the treatment properly. After finishing the keratin treatment, you should blow-dry your hair on the cool setting and then straighten it completely. Since my hair is quite thick and I realized I'd never finish with just the straightener, I used my blow-dryer on the high heat setting to complete the process. As I had already been drying my hair for four hours and had other things to do, I decided to leave the product in until the next day (my hands were sore from drying it so much). The next day, I washed it and used the conditioner that came with the product (I used a generous amount). I waited 5 minutes and washed it again, then slowly started blow-drying it to achieve the desired result. Finally, I straightened it and finished with some salon hairspray and hair drops, then styled it (I put on a hairnet and slept until the next day). When I woke up for a doctor's appointment, I was THRILLED with the result! I honestly didn't think I could get the same treatment at the salon for $150 and get such great results for less money—$69! In the pictures, you'll see how shiny and fresh my hair looks. The best thing about keratin treatments is that I can work out, and even if my hair sweats, it still looks great, and I don't have to wash or straighten it. I will update after I wash it out after 3 days and then a few months. But the process was not hard at all! It's really straight forward! Step 1, wash hair with shampoo they provided ( do it 3 times because it helps open the hair cuticles so the product absorbs better ), step 2 put the second bottle on for 40 mins ( or 20 mins if you have thin hair - I have a LOT of hair ), step 3 put the 3rd bottle mask on hair for 5 minutes. And then rinse with just water! Then blow dry straight . ( I have a huge blow dryer that has a built in brush that I love). And then straighten. Right when I had to blow dry I could tell my hair was wayyyy different than usual. I could get it to look the way I wanted in less than 1-2 minutes for each section. Which is saying a lot because that same blow dryer does not help me straighten my hair that quickly after I shower. I put a gazillion products on when I usually blow dry after I shower so I for sure know my hair is different right now. I also straightened it which didn't take long but I tried to be meticulous since they say this step is what makes the product absorb into your hair. But I'll update in3 days after I shower. And a few months down the lines. I will be kicking myself like crazy if getting a keratine at home treatment is so damn easy and I suffered alllll these years because I didn't want to go sit in a chair for 8 hours. For it to last only 2 months and it not was never even that great. Unless I did the Japanese one which I don't recommend. Because a it's way too straight and b it costs sooo much money! Oh and no fumes nothing!!! I don't know what all these reviewers are talking about!! Update: the first time I bought it it did great. Second time July of 2026, the mask itself was runny and not the same as last year. My hair did not look less freezy. In fact, my ends felt burnt after I washed them for the first time. I did a very expensive restoring mask after and it's been two weeks since I've done the keratine treatment and my hair is breaking 3 inches from my head! My hair is VERY strong and all I wanted was for it to be easier to style when I shower. This is insane. I hope you all pay for it. God knows what's inside of the mask that they've used to make it runny. The consistency should not have changed since I purchased it last time! You guys are thieves.

TLDR Version: My hair is long, thick, and 'crinkly'. This is my second time using this product and the results are awesome and long-lasting. Use in a WELL ventilated room. You won't think the product smells bad at first, and it doesn't. But then it hits you and there is no excape. If it gets really bad, so outside for a few minutes and let your space air out. I used about 3/4 of the shampoo (washed twice), the entire 4 oz bottle of treatment, and the entire bottle of hair mask. If your hair is longer than mine you may want to get two sets. Tip: Do NOT wash your hair for 3 days after the treatment and use a quality Keratin-treatment specialized shampoo when you do. Using regular shampoo immediately after the treatment will cancel all your hard work and you won't get great results. Long version: If you have hair like mine, you know it's a struggle to manage. From fly-aways to frizz to always looking like a hot mess, I understand the pain. Flat ironing helps but who has time for all that? I dreamed of being able to "wash and go". Salon options were out of reach because of cost and time, so I tried this home option without expecting much. I first used this product in March of 2022 and OMG, I had incredible results. The process took FOREVER - from blow drying my freshly washed mop to brushing on the treatment to blow drying it again using the cold setting to flat ironing every strand. My arms were jelly, my nose was runny, my eyes were tearing - but I had beautiful, straight, and flowing hair. The treatment lasted well over 9 months; after that I started to notice more and more frizz returning and my hair started to tangle more. Time to set aside a day to do it again but I did it a little smarter this time around. After washing my hair with the shampoo, which basically strips it down to a rats nest of straw, I let it air dry until it was damp but not completely dry. The first photo is what my hair looked like after the wash. I then parted my hair into 8 sections (which was difficult to do being that my hair was extremely tangled) and using gloves, dumped the treatment into a bowl and used my fingers to spread it through each section, followed by the comb to make sure each strand was covered. So much quicker! The instructions say to use a blow dryer on a cold setting to dry the hair. Um, hello? It took me a good 2 hours to get my hair dry last time. Cold air + long, thick hair = HAHAHAHA, nope. This time around I planned in advance - I let it air dry as I worked (desk job, work from home). This might not be an option for you so plan on spending half the day watching TV or whatever takes up 5-6 hours. For the flat ironing, I did it per usual. I don't have expensive flat irons; mine are 1" and 2" Remmington brands from Walmart that I've had forever. They only go up to 430 degrees so that's what I used, going over each little section multiple times. Your hair will get VERY hot and smoke a little as you flatten your hair into submission. Although the instructions say that there is no wait time before rinsing, I did wait about 15 minutes. I rinsed the treatment out of my hair and applied half the bottle of the hair mask, brushing it through with a comb. Then I applied the rest of the bottle by working it through with my fingers; wrapped my hair in a towel, and rinsed again an hour later. You can rinse it out after 5 minutes but I had a conference call and decided to wait. After rinsing, I towel dried my hair, combed it, and let it air dry again. The second photo is it fully dry - no product, no flat iron, nothing. Exactly how it looked and felt last time I used this product. Now the 3-day timer begins - the instructions don't say this but it's best to wait at least 72 hours before getting your hair wet (even sweat) or washing. Don't use any product or accessories in your hair during this time. If you are a violent sleeper like I am (tossing and turning), it's OK to flat iron your hair straight again as needed. After 3 days, wash with a shampoo specifically designed for keratin treated hair. It MUST be sulfate and salt-free (more below). Maintenance: There isn't much to maintaining the treatment other than to use quality products. I use Keratin Complex Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner that I only buy from Ulta (3rd party sellers on Amazon are known to be knockoffs). Yes, it's expensive at $48 for a 32oz bottle...each. It hurts a little when I buy them. Actually, it hurts A LOT but it's worth it. I've been using them since my last treatment and without a doubt is the reason why it lasted so long. BUT, I picked up a set of Loreal Ever Pure Moisture Shampoo/Conditioner for camping and it's every bit as good and much more affordable ($17/23oz bottle). I don't get any kind of kick back from mentioning these two brands, just personal experience. Also, be kind to your treated hair. Keep it natural as much as possible, use sulfate/salt-free products (even dry shampoos, hair spray, etc.). Nothing will strip your hair faster than salt. Limit use of heat stylers. Other than doing this treatment I haven't used my flat irons in a year. When I have needed to blow dry my hair it takes much less time and I can use the low heat setting. Hopefully this review helps if you are looking for something to try at home.

Your eyes are not going to burn out of your head and you are not going to suffocate. Trust me. I've used this and live to tell the tale. That being said, it's not compelling non-irritating. If you have extremely sensitive eyes or nose, then yes maybe you should be concerned, but I think anyone can safely use this product. Don't be scared, just be smart. I did this in my room, with the door shut because I didn't want the fumes traveling to the rest of the house. I had the 2 windows in my room wide open and put the large window fan in my room on my vanity so it was blowing at me (so any fumes would he blown away from my face.) The worst part was blowdrying my hair after applying the keratin treatment. But I had the fan going and I kept the hairdryer pointed back and down so it was blowing my hair away from my face. There was some eye irritation but I just shut my eyes and relaxed while I dried. Honestly, the worst part was the ironing process. And not because of the smell or the burn but because my arm and hand got tired 😄 And after all the time I spent ironing my hair, it felt counter productive to wash it again, but I did and then blow dried my hair upside down with my fingers. So, don't be scared to use this, just be smart, and be prepared. Now, most importantly you need to set aside time for this. It took me every minute of 2 hours and then some to complete this and my hair is just about shoulder blade length. These bottles were enough to cover my hair, and I wasn't sure how much I should use, so I probably have enough left to do the treatment again in a few months. Next time I would splurge for the big bottles and keep it on hand. I didnt take a pre-treatment photo because I honestly didn't think this would work, so you have to trust me when I say that I have horrible hair. It's dead, frizzy, lifeless and dry as cracker juice. Photo 1 is immediately after the iron phase of the treatment. Photo 2 is after washing with the hair mask and blow drying with just my fingers. And Photo 3 is after brushing my hair. I'm happy to see that my waves are still slightly intact and it didn't completely straighten my hair. And you can't tell in the photos but it feels so smooth!!! I'm excited to see what my hair looks like the next time I wash it and let it air dry. I'm hoping I will finally be able to wash my hair and go with out having to dry and straighten it. And we are in the summer months now so we will see how it does with humidity. I'll update again in a month to give my final verdict. But for now I approve.

I have tried this one and the Keratin Research. Here’s a quick comparison from my personal experience: Kerazon: Smell was WAY stronger than Keratin Research. I had read the reviews of others saying the smell was bad, but I thought, “I’ve done this before with the Keratin Research, I will be fine” but no, BELEIVE THEM. Like my eyes and nose were burning, hard to breathe, barely got through the process. At one point I got super dizzy and had to take a break. Lasted about 2 months for me. Maybe this was due to the fact that I couldn’t run the straightener through as many times because I was just trying to hurry up and finish due to the smell. But it didn’t last as long for me. It did give me sleek, soft hair, but I still had to run my straightener through a few times a week. This one is more for pin straight hair in my opinion, less for frizz. Keratin Research: Smell was far more bareable. But still present. Results lasted way longer, about 3-4 months. More for frizz reduction rather than pin straight hair, which is what I personally was looking for. It did still straighten my hair but I didn’t have to straighten it after most of my washes like I did with the Kerazon. Overall, I prefer the Keratin Research. But if you want super pin straight hair at any cost, go for Kerazon. Make sure to get like goggles and a mask if you do get Kerazon. You absolutely HAVE to be in a well ventilated or big space. My bathroom is small, I opened th window and ran a fan and still almost died lol. As far as damage, I personally did not experience that with either but everyone is different. Just don’t apply it directly to your scalp or at least a lot of it for a long period of time and you should be fine if you have relatively healthy hair/scalp.

I was in need of a Keratin treatment but didn't have the $275 to spend. Did some research and found this product that had a lot of good reviews. For $40, I figured why not give it a try-- so glad I did.... Things I noticed, the initial smell of the product, smelled to me like bubblegum but wasn't overly strong. I did listen to the reviews and did it in the bathroom with the window open. The drying process like every one said took me about 1.5 hrs not including flat iron. I did find, if I blew dry using a comb and from underneath up it dried faster. It will feel thick and a little hard from the product..as I was drying I saw some areas that still looked frizzy, so I used the rest in the bottle and went over some sections..I had to stop a bunch of times because my hand was killing me. I would suggest getting a chair and sitting in front of your mirror for this part, it will definitely save your back. Be careful that you don't get the chemical applied pieces to close to your face, I did a few times and it was stinging my eyes and the chemical smell was very strong. Caution: when you start to flat iron be warned the smell of chemical is VERY strong, make sure you have a fan or window open. I started choking a little from it. Don't be alarmed if you see some smoking from the flat iron that's just the chemical reacting with the heat, this happens when I get it done at the salon.. I did feel a little light headed during this part, but I have that reaction at the salon too, queasy and light headed. So, I flat ironed a little at a time and walked out of the bathroom.. One thing you don't do is wash your hair, when you initially take the Keratin off, just RINSE, you will see the water looking a little milky, keep rinsing until the water is clear. Same goes for the condition treatment.. The picture above is after I did the process and then blew it dry.. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Do this when you have uninterrupted time. It will take a few hours. 2. Do this in a well ventilated area, window open, fan if you have one. 3. Be careful not to get near eyes or mouth. 4. Take a break if you need to, I used a water bottle and just sprayed if it started to dry too much. 5. Use a flat wide tooth comb for blowing dry. 6. If you have a hair color bowl and brush, makes applying much easier. 7. Once you apply each section, run your fingers through to make sure all strands are coated evenly. 8. Sit down when blowing dry, it's going to be a while. 9. Buy WOW serum- use on really humid days for extra protection I don't know if it's exactly the same as the salon. Time will tell once the NC heat kicks in but for the price and convenience it did a FABULOUS job, will definitely buy this again. Feel free to ask me any questions

I’m stunned. Truly. Just check out these before and after pics to see why. In both: no conditioner, no product, blow dried straight down without brushing. Yes, really. I can’t get over the state of my “natural” hair. I am mid-50s, so this is color-treated, gray straw. Look at the texture I’ve been fighting against for the past godonlyknows how many years??? And now, the frizz is GONE. My hair is shiny and healthy looking. It’s actually *too* straight right now. Almost everyone commented on it at work yesterday, and I forwarded the link to this kit to no less than 8 friends. Kerazon is going to owe me commission! Haha Now for the bad: Yeah, this stuff is TOXIC. I applied it in a bathroom with the window open and a vent fan running, and my eyes still teared up and my throat felt like it was on fire. Pro Tip: next time, I think I’ll set up a table fan to blow directly into my face, keeping the fumes away. Better yet, maybe I’ll set up the whole operation outdoors. But honestly? Even with the smell of napalm in the morning, it was worth it. CONS: Takes a lonnnng time. I washed my hair the night before and blew it dry. Didn’t apply the acid bath of Step 2 until the following day. Blow-drying on cool is just ridiculous, so if you have a bunch of hours to kill, just let it air dry, keeping the strands away from your face to avoid inhaling the fumes. 6-10 passes with a flat iron is also overkill, but I guess it depends on your hair type. I did 3-4 slow swipes at 390*. Even still, this little project consumed almost my entire weekend. PROS: NO MORE FRIZZ. Hair looks healthy and shiny. Finding an inexpensive sulfate-free, salt-free shampoo and conditioner is proving difficult, but I figure I can splurge considering I just saved a cool 400 bucks+ by avoiding the salon. I can’t wait to finally wash this poker-straight mane tomorrow and see what the final result looks like!

This product works great!! It smells a bit but not after rinsing! It does stay straight for over 6 months to year for some clients!! You need to be patient & dry the hair on cold!! It takes a while but it works!!

Honestly Was useful but just one time.

Pros : It does hold for 3 months, it doesn't hurt the hair much, it doesn't smell at all after getting your hair wet or washing it Cons : it does hurt your eyes while applying the product, you better wear gloves when applying too. Other than this, I've tried many others and this one is the best so far
