Very Unique Guitar Sounds amazing on its own. But once you start up the app it transforms your music to the next level , Haven,t Put it Down Since . Learning new features on it . It's not as Loud , as a guitar amp But more at a personal level. To be Honest , it looks like a Toy at 1st But a few who have Tried it , were Amazed , its a Great Travel Parlour Guitar . The only 2 things I would Change on it, is the Head stock. It s Ugly. Plan and Simple. The Sound Hole is located perfectly as it allows the sound to come thru like a Top Edge Sound Port. And the Menu could be Better , A Home Return Home Icon Displayed At all times at the top or bottom Corner of the Screen. There been a few times, Where I had to restart it just to get back to THE MAIN MENU from Recording screen or the Effects Selection.. And The Feed Back from the Bridge pickup or the internal Mic some time will occur 😞 . Depending on Effect Selection. Hopefully There will updates this in the near Future. To Correct these Issues . This is a Very well Constructed and Solid Guitar. Highly Recommended. Battery life is Very Good ,Recharging only once or twice a month. The only other Acoustic Guitars I would Consider over Lava Play Models Is The Yamaha FG-TA Transacoustic and The Martin SC-10E . Which are Double and Tripled the price, than the Lava me play. But each are very Unique. All 3 Brands and Models mention Above Have Amazing Sound and Playability ,Were One could just Play for Hours .

Okay, I waited to write this review for over two weeks in order to try out this new tech and give an honest opinon. I own Taylors, Martin, Breedlove and Guild guitars and I must say this is the most fun guitar that I have ever purchased. I got the nightfall version...looks great... and went for the Lava Play to just check out this new type of guitar and the price was very reasonable for 400. It arrived in perfect condition and packed very well. The setup was a tad high, not bad, but I adjusted the relief and shaved the saddle a bit so better now and easy to do. I wasn't crazy about the strings so I restrung with Elixir lights for a fuller sound. This guitar is similar to some of the new Martins with HPL which is okay but the ace in the hole is the electronics, just amazing what it can do for the price and sounds damn good for a 400 dollar guitar. I reached out to Lava with an email for a question and they responded immediately which is also impressive. I think that you can't go wrong with this and Amazon because if you hate it you can return but I doubt that you will, it's kind of an addictive little instrument that you will have fun with for a long time. Forgot to mention that the tuner is great in this guitar, many variations including alternate tunings which is a very nice feature.

Amazing guitar, all the built in features just amazed me and my family, I was iffy on buying it because of the price but definitely worth the money

I had just a beginner guitar before with bad action I couldnt fix and it wasn't motivating for me to play. I got this and its lots of fun. You can practice chord progressions, strumming patterns, etc. If others have the same brand guitar you can add as friends and share stats. It gives you stats on your playing, you can have drum tracks behind you and more. The only downside is I thought it would have more beginner lessons on the guitar but it doesn't seem to walk you through beginner stuff. Its more to help you practice rather than outright teach you, thats ok though!

Bought this guitar in January. Liked it a lot in the beginning. But after just a few months it stopped working. Suddenly it didn't start and it doesn't charge either. The unit is completely dead. Reading some of the reviews, I'm not the only one with this problem. My guitar was still under warranty. I contacted Lava Music and was very pleased with the service at first. They diagnosed the smart amp with the touch screen needed to be replaced. For them to be able to send me a new amp I had to place an order of $1 on their website. I received it about 10 days later. Installed the new amp, which is a pain unless you have small hands. This one is not activating at all. It is turning on but in order to use it you need to activate it. It is NOT activating! This all played in June/July. I contacted them again of course, expecting it would be a simple fix. NEVER heard from them again. My messages are completely ignored. What good is a warranty if it is NOT rewarded! I have a few more months to try to get my money back. I understand that you can be unlucky and things can break but when your warranty is ignored that is not a good sign. Don't waste your money. Stay away from this company.
