Item worked out of box. iPhone Xs MAX with case charged without issue using the built-in Qi system. Uses USB-C for the charging cable. Can't get over how inexpensive the item is for the quality produced. The motorized phone clamp is pretty awesome. There is a unlock button on back left side when you want to remove the phone. Comes with small 1-2ft USB cord. Make sure to buy a longer one if needed.
