I’ve used brand-name Robitussin plenty of times, and this works every bit as well for controlling a nagging cough and loosening up chest congestion. The active ingredients (dextromethorphan and guaifenesin) are exactly the same, and I noticed my throat irritation eased and my chest felt clearer within about 15 minutes. The wild cherry flavor isn’t anything to rave about—let’s be honest, no cough syrup tastes great—but it’s no worse than the name brand. I usually just take the dose quickly with the included measuring cup and chase it with water. What I appreciate is that it’s non-drowsy, so I could take it during the day and still go about my routine without feeling foggy. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s only for ages 12 and up. Also, like with any cough syrup, if the cough hangs around longer than a week or gets worse, it’s best to check in with a doctor. Bottom line: A solid, no-frills alternative to Robitussin that gives effective relief at a better value. I’d definitely keep this stocked during cold season.

This is basically exactly the same as Robitussin. It does the same thing and it works just as well and it's a lot cheaper. Say ask you to rate Things based on taste of a product but I have never found a cough medicine to taste yummy. Actually I've thought that people sat around a table deciding how disgusting something could taste and they applied that knowledge to cough medicine and that's where it's at. Yes it taste like crap and so does robitussin but they do the job equally as well and this product does it for a whole lot less. Does it taste good no it does not but it works amazingly well just like Robitussin does.

I was hesitant to taking this at first as I didn't know what the Guaifenesin ingredient would do. The other ingredient I've had in Nyquil so it's fine. I took this because my wheezing started coming back at the end of May and start of June, which must be the season when my asthma and allergies get back. I decided to try this in the late afternoon as it was late enough that if it made me drowsy, it's the end of the day anyway. But I didn't want to try this before bed in case I had a bad reaction. Luckily, this worked perfectly and gave me wheezing relief. It soothed it and made me feel better. This stuff works great for me that I bought another bottle.

I really prefer the brand name that begins with R, but this Amazon brand isn't too bad and is certainly cheaper. It tastes just awful, so if I were getting it to give to a child, I'd think twice about that. The name brand doesn't taste a lot better, but it's better. The active ingredients are the same in both, and I think both work equally as well. If I were you and needed to spend less or could hold my breath while I took this stuff, I wouldn't spend extra for the brand name.

I don't like taking more medicine than I need so if I need only a cough suppressant and expectorant I use this. But now that I am on a new prescription medication it says not to use this type of cough suppressant 😠! Still a great product though.

I have bought several bottles of these Amazon tussin cough syrups so far this fall and winter season. They have worked just fine. My teenage son,my husband and I have all taken them . The taste isn't. Very good but I wasn't expecting much. It helped to keep our congestion loose and that's really all I care about. The price is reasonable compared to what's available in the store and brand name. I find it easier to order on line than buying in store.
