On-call in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery 1st Edition

I am a dentist who bought this for a job in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In all honesty I wasn't expecting much because of the price being so much less than any other similar book. I was however very surprised! The sections are well laid out and easy to follow and it seems to cover all the common presentations you need and some useful revision of basic knowledge. I especially like the concise text that gives very practical advice in bullet points to help deal with patients. Its also colourful and has some great pictures in the procedures section which I liked a lot. If you are a dentist starting a job in maxillofacial surgery then I highly recommend you give this book a try.

Bought this book having heard about it through my friends. It's very practical, tells you exactly what you need to know and do for each presentation and chapters are nicely grouped into the various hospital environments (wards, clinic, A&E etc.). I really like the procedures chapter, it made me much more confident in "getting on with things" (like splinting teeth or packing the nose) where beforehand I would have been a bit unsure. The ward section is really handy, especially the bit on tracheostomies and free flaps. Definitely the one book worth having for your first job in maxfax.
