People are tired of unintuitive too-much-electronics-for-no-good devices, and this kettle has design with simple controls. Cannot deny its good look and build quality, few design defects spoil the enjoyment a lot: - extremely heavy if you used to modern plastic or glass kettles - despite the weight and bulkiness, wall are not uninsulated and you have to be careful to take if by handle - water level window is hidden under the handle and difficult to see - unintuitive and weak lid mechanism - push down down and release a button to let the lid pop back up. Plastic lid latches and spring mechanism fills weak and likely to break.

I bought this smeg elec kettle for my friends birthday and tbh it was the best decision! They love it, and they loved the color (so did we) most trendy color and design It works perfectly fine as well.
