WoodwayGlass Pyramid Post, fits 5.5" Post, in Amber, 1PC

Multiple purchases starting from Aug/2013 & need more now when in stock again. I wanted something different than the norm for our new 650 sq' deck. Found these on Amazon. As long as they get to you undamaged they are really nice although not perfect being glass. They fit my Nominal 6x6 post a little tight at first but once the post dries out good they actually loosen & drop down without trimming. This has happened on ever post I have installed them on so don't immediately trim your post if they are tight. Just fit the best you can & let the post expel the moisture trapped in the end grain.There are some imperfections in the glass so if you expect a perfect piece of glass you will not get it. I now have 28 of them & will definitely be purchasing more.Update 07/28/2014:Just ordered 24 more of these for our New Custom Fence that has all 6x6 post. I am now up to around 50 which is a substantial investment but they don't deteriorate like plastic,wood, metal etc.They are very durable, I have had them in place 24-7 all four seasons with no issues.

Beautiful, sturdy and just what we hoped for. Unfortunately, there was hardly any packing material in the small box they stuffed 8 into and two broke in transit. They took care of it when we complained, though. Also, be careful if your deck posts go flush up to your house wall. These need between a quarter and half inch clearance all around the post cap for the thickness of the glass.

When I put it on the post the paint came off the inside. I suspect the outside paint will not hold up long.

One of the caps was broken when it arrived, but the others were intact, but for the price, it's not worth complaining. (We're in Oregon and this product was manufactured nearby.....but Amazon shipped it from Oregon to the midwest and then back to us, which is probably the reason for the broken cap). At the time we purchased this, it was priced lower than even the plastic caps. It has since been priced prohibitively expensive, however. It looks nice installed....we have yet to have it on the fence posts over a winter to test durability, though.

Nice heavy glass but has a lot inclusions. Bought the 8 pack 6x6 post caps and one cap was missing a piece from the bottom but no piece was found and shipping box was not damaged. Had to shave some off of posts to make them fit. They look very nice on the posts.

Out of 40 post caps I had one split. They fit a bit too tight on the post so when it rains and the post swells from moisture and humidity, the caps become really tight and the glass will eventually shatter. The real problem is that every manufacture of posts, not Woodway Products, are a slightly different size so I recommend cutting/trimming the post too allow for expansion.I consistently get compliments on our fence and people really like the glass caps.

A bit overpriced actually more expensive that the post itself. For reference, it is a very nice looking cap and fits perfectly on a lowes/Home Depot 6x6. I installed these on either side of my gates, and from 15 ft away they are hard to differentiate from black plastic caps of the same shape. Just something to consider, I chose to keep them but would not buy them again for my fence.
