Great little strip for under the hood of my 2000 tahoe. The OE tilt light fixture stopped working and barely did its intended job anyway. I installed this strip in a perfect little area by the hood latch, ran the wire under the hood pad and then mounted the supplied switch to the old light housing. Tapped into the OE wires and BAM! Great light. Great cost. Plenty of wire. Easy install. Like most Nilight stuff I've used, this product makes you smile if you like lighting.

I absolutely love these lights! They are high quality and very bright. I think they will last a long time. The built in switch is what exactly what I was looking for! I hate those ones with the little spring loaded doohickey that always breaks. With an on/off switch these work exactly like I want. Wiring length was more than sufficient for installing on the hood. Great value for how bright they are.

These light up the engine compartment really well. The battery/ground connection end could be a bit longer, due to any proximity to a ground position in the frame of the vehicle. In addition, I think they should include METAL zip-ties to keep the light bars in place on the hood due to engine heat, and the possibility of the adhesive losing it's grip, and falling onto the engine during operation. The light bar cables should be longer too, since I was limited on how far I could install one of the lights that was the furthest from the battery. Still, these are very helpful, and the switch is an added plus, so in case the hood is up for an extended period, you can turn it off to save battery life. My '01 Ram has a small hood light, but never as good as these. Make sure you have a good ground hole along the frame (or you might have to drill one) to mount the interlock switch, which, as I mentioned, needs to be near the battery since that cable is fairly short.

Bought two of these lights. ran the wiring in the cavity of the hood, taped the lights in place, connected the wiring...nothing. Neight one works. One came without a switch. Not worth the aggravation and the time wasted installing them. DO NOT BUY!!

Very bright! I am only a few days into using this product, so this is not a long-term review. I was concerned at first that the light bars would be too short and too few diodes to provide adequate light, but thankfully I was wrong. Having 2 smaller light strips instead of 1 reduces shadows to near nothing. the fridge-door like on-off switch is just so gangster AND it utilizes chassis ground. I did have to extend the wires to fit where i wanted them, but this is no issue. The lights do not look tacky when illuminating the engine. This is an item I would suggest you get now, while you don't need it, rather than later, when you wish you had it.

Worked fine when installed but less than two months later it doesn’t shut off and it’s not because it was installed improperly. It came on when the hood was opened and you could see it shut off just before closing when it was initially installed.

Awesome! Comes with everything you’ll need to install. Install was very easy and the installation instructions were perfect! Highly recommend. I have a small car so the base set I bought was very good. For my truck I will buy the larger set of LED light strips.

This package arrived quickly and contained everything I required to install the light. It was straight forward and only "tinkering was routing the wires in a neat path to be safely out of the way and secure.
