Hi, Yes that is how it opens and closes by screwing on and off

Is this urn suitable for burial?

It's quite small. We bought these to hold my brother's ashes. I assume you could bury this. ( Note- We never knew this until we had gone thru the experience, but these urns are small. A great size to have, but there will be a TON of ashes left over. ) Buy your urns, Guest book, ect ONLINE! If you buy from the Funeral Home you WILL be paying about 4-5X more. And guess where they buy their supply? Sorry for your loss- God Bless!

Will this be large enough for 2

I don't think so. I was told by the funeral home that there was absolutely no room with grandfather. He was about 6' 250 lbs or so.

Is this urn engraveable?

I brought it to “Things Remembered” and they could not engrave it. I then purchased a heart, which I had engraved, and hung it around the urn.... sort of like a necklace. Not sure if a jeweler could engrave it.
