Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Programmable Graphing Calculator (Packaging and Colors May Vary)

We have had this calculator for almost 4 years and it is still in perfect working condition. I used it for college and was then able to pass it to my daughter in middle school. Never had to replace the battery, screen still as bright as it was when we bought it. It has been dropped probably 100 times and ZERO issues with it. I would say if you are looking at a less expensive item it is not worth it. GO with a reliable and durable option.

I recently bought two Texas Instruments calculators: - TI-84 Plus CE - TI-83 Plus I like the TI-83 Plus at lot more than the more expensive TI-84 Plus CE. Here's why: 1) The 83 doesn't say "Validating OS" for 3 seconds every time I turn it on (the 84 does). This is highly annoying. 2) The 83 doesn't run out of charge after almost no usage at all (the 84 does). Also highly annoying. At least for me, having a color screen adds literally no value and detracts plenty (see above). In conclusion, I highly recommend the 83! PS: I got my first TI graphing calculator exactly 30 years ago when I started high school (the TI-81). The 83 of today looks and feels almost identical to what the 81 did back then. We'd program all kinds of things on these calculators at the time in high school. Someone even made a game that looked like "pong". These things are certainly designed well and you won't go wrong. Just skip the color screen unless you absolutely need one and best or luck with your studies!

This is the best thing I have ever bought for a class. Its a little difficult to use at first but one you get the hang of it then it becomes such a time saver. It's a little pricey but can do a lot. In statistics it was wonderful. It helped me with factorials, two tailed graphing, z intervals, and just everything. I was on the fence about buying it because of the price but it is the best calculator that I have ever owned. Its sturdy and long lasting. I refused to loan this calculator because of how lost I would be without it. I just really adore this one. The only reason that its not five stars is that it was a hard to use in the very beginning if not familiar with this model at all. I have not had math in years and went back to school so this was all new to me.

Got this calculator for my son for school, just put batteries in it and it won’t turn on. Tried 3 sets of band new batteries and it doesn’t work. Not very happy at this point.

Exactly what my son needed for school at a comparatively reasonable price. TI is still a reliable brand, we bought a cheap scientific calculator earlier in the year only to find that it did not have all of the function that were needed.

Works well and saved us a chunk of money for my son to use for school.

I like this calculator because it’s very essential for school and it has very good features that you can calculate things on. It’s good.
