Easier than other barrel bolts
I love that there is no "lip" over which th arm of the bolt must be lifted. It just slides back and forth. Efficient.

Works!
Sometimes you have to have a product for an application. This product fit the task very well. I hear a lot of whiners and namby pambies complaining that this or that wasn't up to their expectations and all I can say is learn to read the specs. Now the screws supplied I could not use, but I knew that from the beginning because the screws supplied are for wood, whereas I was installing the barrel bolts into extruded structural aluminum. So I adapted. I used many of these for a bulletin board renovation project and can't be more happy than the overall result. I used other locking type from this supplier for the bottoms of the board glass and they worked just as well. If you are looking for a good stainless steel barrel bolt for any application you may need, these people supply a great product. Good company and very good hardware.

Does not have a stop to it!
This is garbage. It doesn't have a stop section to it as a normal barrel bolt has so it just slides open. Now I have to tape it in place! DONT BUY THIS!

I've never seen a barrel bolt latch that doesn't "latch".
I guess I should have looked more closely at the photos - there's no locking mechanism on the sliding bolt and it freely slides back and forth where normally there is a stop where the bolt needs to be rotated to the center position before it will slide. It's not technically "a latch". They are sturdy - but also have a loose fit of the bolt in the slides so it moves very freely. A little vibration or jiggling and it can be undone. It would also have to be mounted horizontally because it would only stay in one position in a vertical orientation.
