Xtreme Bright Pro Series Elite Lantern - Ultra Bright LED Camping Lantern with Multiple Settings - Bulbs Never Needs to be Changed

I rarely write a critical review, and I don't know if it is JUST THIS unit (the one I bought) or the product in general . . . but there are NO MULTIPLE SETTINGS as the ad says. Mine has one off and two identical on settings. Neither are very bright. Maybe it is just the one I bought???KNOW that you will need to go battery shopping for the lamp and the remote. And, if yours is like mine, it is just not going to put out much light UNLESS mine has a malfunction in the "Multiple Settings" that are advertised. Maybe the seller will be kind enough to replace it and I will re-evaluate my review.______________________________________________________________________________________________________UPDATE: When I saw the sincere concern and immediate attention to my situation, I changed from 2 stars to 3. Now with the replacement here in a timely manner, I'll go one more step up. These folks run a fine business with a good product. It is a NICE looking lantern, the remote control is great . . . and they deserve better than my initial bad review. I shouldn't have been so critical.Maybe my expectations were too high for the PRICE which is very reasonable compared to $30-$40 LED lanterns. Changing from 3 stars to 4 . . . just can't make it a five star product . . . but they ARE 5 star people.With more reasonable expectations and KNOWING THERE ARE NOT MULTIPLE SETTINGS, a reasonable buyer should be happy for the price. You can spend over $100 on an LED Lantern, ya' know.

There are not that many alternatives out there that have a remote. There are a couple of things that bug me about this lantern, but overall it does the job and I am happy with it. The remote must be pointed directly at the lantern for it to work. They have provided a red LED that is always on when in remote mode, for aiming purposes, but it is many times too bright and is actually a nuisance. I am basically blind without my glasses and could easily see the burning red orb from 20' away. I ended up taking a piece of black electrical tape and poking a small hole in it to put over the LED. That did the trick, no more burning red devil eye in the night. The light the lantern throws is very cold white light as is typical of white LEDs.This may be picky, but the remote is black, which doesn't help in locating it in the dark. I put a brightly colored fob on it and problem solved. The remote works as advertised with regard to distance and a few feet more.

Good value for the money. It is really bright. My only comment is that the remote only works when pointed at the side of the lantern where the on/off switch is located. So the claim that you can use the remote from anywhere in your campsite is not a true statement. In fact, the remote needs to be within I'd say 10 feet and facing the side of the lantern where the on/off switch is located. For the money, though, it's a fair deal. I just don't like misleading advertising that isn't entirely true.

Small and compact, yet sturdy. Puts out a solid amount of light. Used it for a camping trip. Very good light inside the tent and on the picnic tables. I keep it close in case of any power outages. Very nice to have something that sits upright instead of a flashlight. I didn't use the remote mostly because it's just too lazy for my taste. Great little light for the price. I tried Field and Stream and Cabelas and found nothing but overpriced Coleman lanterns. They also felt much cheaper than this product by far.

I love a great camping gadget and this one not only performs well but also better than my expectations. You really cannot get a better lantern for the money from the big box stores and the company didn't stop there. They added a remote control that works from a pretty good distance. How many times have you been walking in the dark back to your tent/cabin? Just use the remote and the place is lit up for you before you go in. I also like the little compass that was installed on the handle and for the most part it's fairly accurate as well. Best of all, the product seems to be very well made and takes falls pretty well. For the light it gives out it doesn't take must space and you never have to change the bulbs.

We love this lantern. It is well made, sturdy, has a compass on top, the remote has a place to attach to the side of the lantern (and it works), and to my surprise the hanging hook is part of the design. So nothing gets lost. What a wonderful product. This is truly a product that we all need at home in case of any blackouts. The added beauty is that if the lantern was placed in one area of a room, you could turn it on or off without getting up. This product was not only designed from the experience of John Gill, it was designed with LOVE. I am getting one for all my senior friends.

Decent quality lamp. I will be using it while camping with my family. Great option to let the kids use as I don't want my higher end ones getting trashed. The remote works pretty well but you do have to have it in the line of sight of the lamp otherwise it wont click on or off. Nice and compact and the light output is bright enough for most uses. Overall decent quality at a very good price.

I was totally thrilled this little lantern. Very handy to have the remote so that all of the kids can get into bed in out pop-up and then remotely turn the lights out. But after using it three times now, the LIFETIME bulbs are out. Only one strip of them works!! And unless you buy the lantern from Xtreme Bright the warranty does not cover the lifetime guarantee. Super frustrating!!
