Were these grown in salt or fresh? Will they acclimate to fresh if they have roots? If going into fresh, would horticultural charcoal substrate work?

Lightly salted. I live in Michigan. They don’t do well in the cold weather. Thrown them out 2 weeks after receiving them

Can you keep in a vase - similar to keeping Bamboo?

Yes, as long as you keep water over the roots.

I am very interested in this, but I want to put them in a planter outside. What material do I use to make the planter so the salt mud won't erode it?

I think a thick plastic planter without holes would work. Or even a five gallon mixing container from Menards just paint outside for looks.

Can i just stick them into my tank and stick them in a hole in my live rock and let it stick out of the tank would that be okay for these

I am not an expert with mangroves. The ones I received have quite a few roots, so some care should be taken not to damage the roots when sticking them into the live rock. I assume that you have bright overhead lighting. They come with good instructions. They recommend making styrafoam floats, which I found king of awkward to work with - they can provide unwanted shade and tended to tip over for me.
