Review: Mmmm... well... okay? 🥴 I liked that it was entertaining and fast-paced, though perhaps too much so. However, the story itself was implausible. I couldn't connect to the characters or the story. They all seemed flat and shallow, and there were no descriptions of any kind, so no atmosphere was created. It feels like Kenzie suddenly knows everything she needs to do, where to look and what questions to ask, just from reading 3 or 4 letters. The ending is science fiction, not thriller. There is one plot twist after another, each one making less sense than the last 🫣 Review: Snelle levering

I recommended Love, Mom to my book club here in Nebraska—and it has been an absolute hit. My first hint that this book was something special happened unexpectedly on a plane. While flying from Grand Island, NE to Mesa, AZ, I noticed a woman completely absorbed in a book. She was deep into Chapter 13 and wouldn’t put it down. I asked her how it was, and without hesitation she said, “It’s so good—I can’t stop reading.” That moment stayed with me. When I finally picked it up, I understood immediately. I read Love, Mom in three days flat and could not put it down. The pacing is excellent, the psychological tension builds beautifully, and the story is filled with surprises that keep you turning pages late into the night. It’s the kind of thriller that pulls you in quietly—and then refuses to let go. Others in my book club have said the exact same thing: gripping, immersive, and impossible to read slowly. Iliana Xander has crafted a compelling psychological thriller with strong momentum, layered storytelling, and twists that genuinely surprise without feeling forced. An amazing read from start to finish. I can’t wait to read more from this author—and I’ll absolutely be recommending Love, Mom again and again.
