My child learned in less than an hour!
I with I could give this bike ALL the starts out there. I bought a super cute bike a couple of years ago for my child who is on the spectrum and has some issues with coordination. It was a disaster. The bike was heavy and I could only remove the pedals; not the arms, which caused a lot of bruises. She could not learn and it became a source of anxiety and distress. After trying a couple of times, she would not try again and that bike went to waste. She has a couple of friends in the neighborhood that ride bikes and I could tell she wanted to join them so I took the risk again, but this time I did my research. I didn’t want to buy a balance bike AND a regular bike for obvious reasons. Royal Baby stuck with me due to reviews and for being convertible. I set it up on Christmas Eve and it was very easy to set up the handle bar, the seat, and the reflectors. On Christmas Day, I was bracing myself for a meltdown. We started on a paved flat area. She did short strides on the balance bike, then promptly she went to long strides, and though I thought she needed more time, she went to short bunny hops than large bunny hops. After about 10 minutes, she asked to try the pedals. I was reluctant, but after pushing her a couple of times, she did it! I was so happy for her. No tears! No panic attacks. Just some perseverance and a proud smile on her face! It was light enough for her to pick herself up and keep moving. I love the simple and practical look of it. Thank you, Royal Baby for being what my girl needed to learn. It was totally worth the price.

Really well built bike
This bike is very well built, but rather heavy. My kid had a different brand balance bike that he outgrew and it was very light compared to this one. I love how the pedals can snap right in or out without needing tools. It was extremely easy to assemble. The only issue during assembly was that the instructions were not specific to that model so some didn’t apply, but it missed some information as well. I thought the back reflector was missing the bracket. It wasn’t until browsing review pictures that I figured out how it attaches to the bike. However, there was no mention of that in the instructions that came with it. I really love the brown leather like material. It adds a nice contrast to the blue. The tires came completely filled so that was nice. I would recommend that the company reinforces the box because the staples came undone and the box was essentially open. It was pure luck that nothing fell off. Overall, it is a really nice bike that seems like it will last a long time.

Great bike!! Off to the races.
We moved from a balance bike to this. We liked that it had a balance option so it felt less like pressure. We let him ride around without pedals on this one for a day to get used to the weight of this one. The next day we added pedals and he was up and running in 30 mins! The quality of the bike seems great. Solid. A little heavy- but in a way that feels good. Brakes work well. We got the mid-size for our 6 year old boy a little on the shorter side and it works with room to grow. Aligning the front tire was a little wonky. It still doesn’t look perfect- I think due to the wheel being just a tad crooked. Don’t love that the reflectors are off center. Also- when pedals are off, the stubs where they go stick out quite a ways- which can be a little annoying in balance mode. I’m sure they can be gotten used to, we added pedals too quick to tell.
