Clip-On LED Aquarium Fish Tank Light for Planted Growing Plants for Up To 20 Gallon Aquariums

I bought this aquarium light for my ten gallon tank with 8 celestial pearl danios. I would say my fish-keeping ability is beginner to intermediate. So far the light seems to work well and I like that it sits up above the water rather than straddles the tank. It is very bright compared to the former led I had on my tank. Setup is straightforward and I’ve had no problems with the light staying put. I have it on a timer and I like that you can choose a lower light level. Especially since the light has been encouraging algae to grow. Not that my plants are getting bigger hopefully they’ll be thriving more than the algae.

This product is brighter than my previous light of similar size but trade-off is it gets much warmer. I'm afraid to cover the tank with the cloth because it could burn. Whereas previously I was able to cover the light at night when the kids went to sleep. On the night mode for blue light it is only warm which is standard. Overall I do see the plants growing much better on my seven gallon tank. I have Amazon sword and Moss and various plants. I did a small modification (cut bottom 1") for it to fit perfectly in my petco Imagitarium 6.8 gallon previous light base. Would definitely buy this again as it is more sleek and does a perfect match. Before I get flak on the tank cleanliness I have not cleaned it for 3 years lol. I only do water changes, filter change and trim the plants. I let that fish and shrimp take care of the rest. 😀👍 Update: After about 6 months two of the 30 or so LEDs to them have burnt out. Still a good light.

Had this for a few months now and will probably never buy a different light! I love the night time blue light its very soothing for when I'm getting ready for bed. The daytime light is super bright and my plants have been growing like crazy. Its well made and great quality for the price. I will probably get more for my house plants too! The only problem is that its kind of hard to attach to tanks but it fit perfectly on the shelf being my betta tanks!

So far i love this light! I have a rimmed, 5 gallon planted tank. Although i only set up the light today, i have this to say: Pros: 1. Perfect amount of light for 5 gallons 2. Fits the rim with extra room to spare 3. Easy to mount (screw it tight from inside the tank, not outside. I read the reviews and noted that people who screw it in from the back will have a lot of heartache, so i avoided this at the start and had no problem mounting the light!) 3. The blue light is dark, but light enough to define edges in my tank cons: 1. The fixture hangs further forward than i would prefer, but i understand that it's probably designed for wider tanks I don't know what effect it'll have on my plants yet, I'll update in the near future!

Good light, I do agree with other reviews that it does get hot to the touch. I added a smart plug to mine and have it set on a timer so I never actually have to touch it except when I’m doing water changes. Perfect for my 5 gallon aquarium and it work with frames or frameless tanks. Would purchase again.

I have this light on a 12" cube tank and it is certainly bright enough to grow the plants and illuminate the fish. Im growing mostly a carpet of s.repens along with some japanese moneywort, pearlweed, and dwarf hairgrass. All of the plants are looking good and growing quickly. The light stays on the glass (rimless tank) with no problem, and hasn't shifted at all. Touch control is simple and effective. For growing live plants I would not recommend this light for a tank larger than 10 gallons without getting a second one, though for fish only and fake plants it would probably illuminate a standard 20, but not a 20 long.

It lights up the tank. I have an Aqueon 20 gallon high tank, and an Aqueon glass canopy. I have 2 Java ferns ‘Windelov’ growing on coconut shell halves, and a large clump of subwassertang. I am confident they will grow well under this light. When I lift the front part of the glass canopy to feed the fish I have to hold it open with one hand and try to feed the fish with the other. This is the first tank cover I have had that did not support itself in an open position. I think it would support itself if this light fixture was not in the way. It’s a poorly designed product , not complimentary to a tank and cover made by the same company. The light it provides appears to be in the cool blue/cool white range, and is not particularly attractive in my opinion. Another reviewer said the quality of the light output did not match the listed specifications. This light will bother people with macular degeneration and other eye problems/diseases. I thought I could use the blue lights as a sort of night light, but I can’t see well with just the blue lights on. I am not saying that the blue lights are not bright, but I am saying they will not do much for someone with night blindness. The light fixture itself is uncomfortable to look at when the lights are turned on. An optional shield that obscured the LED’s from direct view would be a welcome option. I would not allow a child with blue eyes - or light colored eyes of any hue - to look at the tank for extended periods of time on a regular basis.

Aqueon has always met my expectations and this light was no exception. It does put out a considerable amount of heat for its size, but that's to be expected with its brightness. It is VERY bright even on it's full blue mode. I would keep that in mind if you consider buying. It is great for plants, but I do wish it had brightness control. It wouldn't be that hard to add to that light either with its haptic switch. The switch works great by the way. Really convenient, and I definitely recommend for small tanks 10gal or less!

Loved this product very bright and vibrant! The different modes support plant growth but can also be switched for a very nice viewing light of the overall tank! This supported my 20gallon very well and I can see it supporting a 30 or even a 40 gallon very well. The clip on my light came broken which I do not blame the company or the transport for it or even the product, the light is super durable I beleive it was just unlucky but besides that a little superglue fixed the problem just fine.

A complete waste of money. 2 pin plug (not one that you can adapt) therefore waste of time for UK customers. Shocking that its even on the Uk site.

Bought this light for a terrarium setup. I'm using it for a betta tank right now as I transition everything over. It fits my 5g perfectly without being in the way. Easy to setup and the touch lighting system is pretty neat. The blue light is a lovely feature. Daytime light is VERY bright; a bit too bright for a betta tank unless you have a lot of cover for your betta to hide in. Since I will be using it for a plant terrarium the brightness is a bonus. So far no issues, I would definitely buy this again.
