I cannot recommend these shoes highly enough.
I previously bought the MOHEM Jason Men's Casual Trail Shoe and was very satisfied with them. Those are no longer available but the LOUCHEY Men’s Ponera Mesh Hiking shoes are completely identical with one minor exception: they have the word “Sport” embossed on the outer side rubber strip at the top. It’s a very minor detail.I’m guessing these are manufactured from the same factory and the different branding is due to some sort of licensing thing. Regardless, I am as satisfied by these shoes from LOUCHEY as I am of those from MOHEM.There is a similar shoe by another brand that appears to feature a suede toe, though I imagine it must be faux suedebecause these are water shoes. The absolute best thing about these shoes is the sole. This is perhaps the best sole in an active shoe that I’ve ever owned. The tread is deep and grips well on wet surfaces like an all-weather tire and even though these soles are durable, they are just as flexible as those of a sneaker. These shoes can be used to walk and hike and can be worn in the water. The nature of their design makes them especially suited for regular use on a hot summer day; better than sneakers. There are actually two layers of mesh, the big coarse outer mesh that’s clearly visible and makes for a cool design feature, and a much finer mesh underneath. The inner layer is actually the working layer; the outer layer protects this layer and strengthens the skin of the shoe like canvas on a sneaker. I say this is the working layer because although water easily passes through these shoes, the finer mesh keeps out particulates like sand and small rocks that would easily slip through the outer layer. You’ll still get sand in them while walking on the beach, just as you would with any shoe, but only from the top of the shoe, not through the mesh. That’s unavoidable with any shoe except boots or high-top sneakers. These are ideal if you like to take the occasional dip in a lake but don’t like the slick/slimy feel of aquatic plant life found on some lake bottoms. The materials themselves do not soak up much water, and since the mesh allows air to pass through freely, they dry very quickly. Even as you walk after sticking your feet in some water like a wading pool, they dry significantly inminutes. The insoles are easily removable. As if things couldn’t get any better, these shoes break in, in about two days of regular all-day use.I cannot recommend these shoes highly enough.

Tough Mudder
I bought these shoes specifically for Mud on the Mountain (slightly smaller version of a Tough Mudder). My criteria: cheap enough to toss after the run, super light, and ideally not hold water and mud. They were all of these accept after a cycle through the washing machine they were as good as new! So, I am wearing them in the upcoming Tough Mudder Pittsburgh. TRACTION: these shoes provide unbelievable traction over the many muddy trails, obstacles, and even a large boulder of ice/snow—I ran straight up it. Tip 1: I left the quick-pull lace tightener (whatever it is called) on but tucked the lace ends back under the laces which held for the entire run. Tip 2: I wore a serious pair of football socks for the Mud Run. Note, I tried another brand first which did not fit as expected, these did.

Comfort wet or dry.
My friends and I spend a lot of time on the river. This shoes were purchased solely for kayaking and canoeing. They fit great. They're comfortable to wear wet or dry. The only downside is that they're really really tough to clean. Our local river has a course sand throughout. It get's in the shoes whenever you're putting in, stopping for a break on a beach or sandbar, and getting out. The removable soles make it easier to clean than one would imagine but there is something about the inner workings of the shoe that holds that sand in place. At the end of the day I can say that I would and have recommend these to friends. If need be, I would buy them again.

like a sandal but closed
I was looking for an open, breathing sneaker-type shoe that I could wear all day...like a sandal but closed. This shoe does everything I wanted.I also wanted a closure that I could open and close quickly without tying laces.

Nice looking shoe - minimalist
I got these shoes for wet wading while fly fishing. They are really nice looking and I think they'll serve my purpose. They fit true to size and the width was not narrow. I consider these minimalist shoes - flat. The sole is sturdy and grippy but I would be hesitant to hike any distance in these.

Great fishing shoe
Was an all around good shoe worked great in many different applications. The sole was thick and Hardy Which made walking on rocks ferry ease The mash broke down a little too quickly and the bungee never stayed tight
