Ajinomoto - Hon Dashi
I cheated and bought this as a pre-mix seasoning packet. Glad I did. It's sooooo good! Use it as a flavour base for soups, make dipping sauces, pour-on over rice or noodles, just...wow! This is an indispensible go-to for all sorts of wonderful things. Love the flavour, nicely balanced. Oh, and this is a seasoning somewhat parallel to boullion cubes. That's why it's used in so many ways. The other nice thing about this brand is that it is gluten-free...(which is so rare these days it seems), so you can eat this if you are gluten-intolerant as I am. Enjoy!

Pantry staple !!
This is a pantry staple for me !! If you need that umami base for a soup stock, or just make miso soup weekly like me, this is a game changer !! Will add so much umami and flavor. Very little is needed as it can salt your stock quick. Great quality and value for the price.

Time Saver and Authentic Taste!
I had been using chicken and veggie stock to make Miso soup, but it wasn't the same as I had experienced in my travels. I researched how to make Dashi stock, then I found this Ajinomoto - Hon Dashi (Soup Stock) and decided to give it try as I didn't want to invest the time to make the stock from scratch. Followed the instructions on package, and the result was a very authentic taste. And it doesn't take much power to make 4 cups of miso, so I think the cost is good value.
