A Practical and Beautifully Compiled Natural Remedy Guide
Forgotten Home Apothecary: 250 Powerful Remedies at Your Fingertipsโ is an absolute gem for anyone interested in natural healing, herbalism, or building a more self-sufficient lifestyle. The book is well-organized, clearly written, and packed with practical, easy-to-follow remedies using ingredients that are often already in your kitchen or garden. What sets this book apart is its combination of ancestral wisdom and modern practicality. Each remedy includes straightforward instructions, usage suggestions, and often background on the herb or ingredientโs traditional use. The layout is clean and inviting, and the content doesnโt feel overwhelming even though it covers 250 remediesโitโs approachable whether youโre a beginner or more experienced.I particularly appreciated the inclusion of remedies for everyday issues like headaches, colds, digestive troubles, and skin conditions, as well as guidance on making tinctures, teas, poultices, and more. The tone of the book is empoweringโit encourages taking more responsibility for your own health in a gentle, informed way. This is the kind of book youโll keep within armโs reachโnot just read once and shelve. Highly recommended for natural remedy enthusiasts, homesteaders, or anyone curious about reviving lost healing traditions.

Great addition to my home remedies kitchen
Just received and it arrived earlier than expected. I couldn't wait to browse and it is choc full of mainly easy to make potions. Each recipe is laid out clearly with pictures, a clear set of ingredients and instructions on how to make and dosage needed. There is an index in the front that is divided by category of ailment such as 'Respiratory System' and under each category is the various remedies. They are displayed as though you are looking at bottles on a shelf which in itself is fine but one little gripe is that it would have been nice to have all the cough syrups together etc. but not really that much of an issue. Then you get tips and info on 'how to' do various procedures and what you need such as equipment to help you prepare. Then you are into the recipes grouped by the index categories. there is a little more useful info in the back. Very happy with this book and mine is marked as the European edition which gives grams etc in recipes so very nice and eager to start making.

Love this book. Total back to basics
Absolutely love this book it is a total back to basics using lots of organic and natural ingredients that work well together. I think the only thing I would say is some recipes do take a little planning and forward thinking some recipes will take 4-6 weeks to steep and other ingredients will need to be ordered in there not very readily available from the supermarket so I have to order to get them, but so far Iโve enjoyed making lots of of the recipes including antiseptic balms, cough syrups, teas etc.

Highly recommend
I absolutely love this book!!!!I've had this book in my cart for 2 years watching reviews & talking to other people about the book.Within those 2 years I got more into medicinal plants and really wanted something in paper form. My brother in law purchased this as a birthday gift for me.The book came in shrink wrapped which was great my hands were the first to touch the book and flip the pages. The cover has a glossy finish, and the pages are slightly thinner than standard printer paper. I love the layout and how the book has colored visuals throughout the entire book. I love how it gives you details on the different techniques, supplies, and ways to use the medicinal plants. The remedies are seperated by alignment/ benefits. Its easy to follow each remedy even gives you recommend doses. For lower star reviews saying they are missing pages or remedies... no nothing is missing. They just don't know how to read a table of contents. It isn't the number of remedies but the number on the page the remedy is. Part one are suggestions on how to set up your herbal apothecary. It goes into detail where to source herbs and ingredients and how to ensure the seller is selling you authentic herbs and ingredients, choosing equipment and supplies, and different ways to store and perserve. Part two goes into great detail on different herbal preparation and uses. There are so many ways to prepare certain herbs to extract the medicinal properties and honestly this section educated me on differences and purposes. Part 3 are all the remedies and recipes that are categorized under each alignment. Lastly part 4 is the safety guidelines and precautions. So honestly this book should have never received a low review for user error & incompetence. That being said, I love this book so much I started looking into other books from the author relating to medicinal and edible plants. My husband bought me another one of the authors books for my birthday and now I have 2 more waiting in my cart. I am so excited to add her books to my book shelf & read every page. She has became one of my favorite authors for medicinal and edible plants.I would love for the author to write another book like this on medicinal & edible plants that are today's standard "weeds." This book does include some like dandelion & cleavers but there are some medicinal & edible plants like horseherb, hoary bowlesia, & Clasping venus' Looking glass that are not in any books but are today's standard "weed." Now this is all said before purchasing/reading her other books.

A Fascinating Book Full of Traditional Remedies
I really enjoyed going through this book. It has a lot of interesting information and covers a wide variety of traditional home and herbal remedies. I especially like how the book is organized, because it makes it easier to find information without having to read the entire book from beginning to end.The photos and step-by-step instructions are a nice touch, and the recipes are presented in a way that is easy to understand. There is a lot to explore, so I can see myself keeping this book around as a reference and going back to different sections when Iโm curious about a particular remedy.Overall, this is a very interesting and well-presented book for anyone who enjoys learning about traditional remedies and natural ingredients. It would also make a nice addition to a home library.
