This hair straightener heats up quickly and was easy to use for everyday styling. The plates glided smoothly through the hair without pulling and helped leave my hair looking straighter and shinier with less frizz afterwards. I liked that it felt lightweight in the hand and the temperature settings made it easy to adjust depending on hair type. The overall quality feels good and it worked well for both quick touch-ups and full styling. One small thing is that the outside does get quite warm during longer use, so extra care is needed while styling. Overall, it’s a good value straightener that leaves hair looking smooth and polished.

Certainly glides through your hair and great plates length. The shine works too. Very good heat control and speedy heats up in seconds. Didn't realise it has an extra long connection cable which is great. 5 year guarantee 6 if you register online which is always good. Only 2 niggles: 2 glides through hair doesn't straighen enough and I have really thin hair and the hinge lock doesn't work well in keeping them locked - but for the price, still 5stars.

I got this Remington Shine Therapy Straightener / Styler on offer, so it was a bargain. I’ve used GHDs since 2002, having tried pretty much every model since it started. My current GHD is the platinum + model, and I have also tried their newest model, the Chronos, but I can honestly say that this Remington Shine Therapy straightener works better on my hair, straightening and curling it more quickly. I have naturally wavy/ fluffy hair, which is quite fine but there’s a lot of it. It goes very frizzy as soon as there’s a bit of drizzle/humidity and I can never blow dry it anywhere near straight. When it fluffs up, it looks like a lion’s mane. I’ve only been using these for a few days, but am blown away by how great they are. The plates are also longer than ghds, which I find makes them easier to curl/wave with, and quicker to straighten with. When switched on, they heat up quickly, though the temperature display seems to flash for a couple of minutes (I haven’t timed it), which I believe indicates they are still heating up. However, I feel they work great even when the display is still flashing. When they switch on, they default to 190 degrees, so if you want them cooler or hotter, you just need to adjust with the buttons. I find 190 to be perfect for my hair, though I haven’t tried it cooler. It glides through my hair so easily. I can’t believe how quickly and effectively it straightens my hair; it has never felt softer or looked healthier. It’s great at curling/waving too, producing long lasting waves for a natural beachy look. There’s a button to lock the plates closed when not in use. This is a great idea but I do sometimes find it a little stiff so I tend not to use it. It’s not something that’s featured on any of my ghds before, so I will probably just continue to use the silicone sleeve I have from my ghd platinums, which holds the styler closed. If I straighten my hair with this, it remains pretty straight until I wash it again (sometimes just needing a straightening top up if it’s been tied in a ponytail. I needed to straighten my hair daily with my GHDs regardless of whether it was a hair wash day or not. The results are so much better with this than my ghds. I should also state that I have used cloud 9s too, which I didn’t think were that great. I can honestly say that this is the best straightener/styler I have ever used. I think I’d just assumed that no one would ever make anything anywhere near as good as ghds but I suppose 20+ years have passed since GHD infiltrated the market. Before spending loads of money on a top of the range one, give this a try, especially if it’s on offer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Edit: I’m now nearly 8 weeks in, and my hair still loves this straightener. I wondered if the honeymoon period would wear off, but it hasn’t! And the best of it is, I haven’t had to do anything to my hair (other than brush it) since I washed it (and blow dried and straightened it) two days ago. That was unheard of before I owned this :) Edit: May 2025. It’s almost 11 months since I purchased this and I still stand by how amazing it is. The condition of my hair is the best it’s ever been. I don’t need to re straighten or wave my hair every day like I did with my GHDs; it stays straight or wavy (however I have styled it) until it’s washed again. And the condition of my hair after washing and drying is much better than it’s ever been. My hairdresser has noticed a huge improvement in my hair too.

Happy with it, I’ve used GHD’s since 2008 when I went in to secondary school, but my last pair broke and only lasted 2 years, for the price these are incredible, and my hair feels nice and soft, my only criticism is that the feel very cheap and if you have your hand too high you feel the heat on one side coming through. Other than the quality aspect, I’m very happy and for the price, I won’t go back to GHD’s. Also they came in the product box which I wasn’t happy about at all as the box came damaged.

I never leave reviews. However, these are the best straighteners I have ever owned, and I’ve had GHD’s and others as pricey. With little effort they straighten brilliantly and do leave a film of oil, so your hair looks lovely. I hardly ever and I mean ever leave reviews but credit where it’s due, these are worth 4 times what I paid at least.!

I purchased this to replace another Remington branded straightener, which I had for over a decade. Pros - Quick to heat up (literally seconds). Wide plates equals greater coverage of surface area. Heat intelligence - turns off automatically if left unattended for a long time or gets too hot (do not attempt this!). Initially leaves hair feeling silky smooth because of the Argan infusion. This eventually wears off, but the effects can be recreated post wash, if you pre condition or oil your hair. Includes a nice travel pouch/cover. Took it on my travels recently and it is nice and compact. Easy temp control and user friendly LED screen. Cons - Wire is a metre approx. So you will need a power socker close to the mirror, extension cable etc. Previous reviews mention a smell, which is true but this does eventually wear off to a faint musk and the smell is bearable if you are less sensitive. The smell does not transfer to your hair. Would have been great if it came with heatproof gloves (although this isn't a hazard unless you are a novice). Wide plates means you can't curl your hair with this. White so it can get dirty (make up transfer) but this is easily cleaned. I do believe this will go the distance!

Bought this for my wife (I’m bald, so zero personal experience here) and she’s been using it daily for the past month. Honestly, it’s one of the best budget straighteners she’s ever had. Heats up ridiculously fast (under 30 seconds), the floating ceramic plates glide without any snagging, and the argan oil infusion actually leaves her hair noticeably shinier and less frizzy than her old GHD Air or Cloud Nine originals. She has thick, shoulder-length wavy hair and says one slow pass at 185-200°C is enough – no need to keep going over the same section like she did with her Remington Pro-Ceramic she had before. Temperature control is spot-on with the digital display, and the 230°C max is plenty for keratin-treated or stubborn hair. Build quality feels solid, swivel cord is long enough, and it auto-shuts off after an hour (peace of mind). Compared to her old GHD Platinum+ (£200+) she says this gives almost identical results for day-to-day straightening, just without the fancy “predictive technology” gimmick. Against Babyliss or Cloud Nine in the £80-120 range, this wins on value hands down. Only minor gripe: the plates are a touch narrower than some “wide” models, but she actually prefers that for getting closer to the roots and doing flicks. At £23.49 it’s stupidly good value. She’s already told her friends to ditch their overpriced ones. Highly recommended if you don’t want to spend triple figures for 95% of the performance.

This hair straightener is amazing! It’s affordable and works really well. I honestly didn’t expect such great results for the price. It heats up quickly and leaves my hair smooth and straight. Definitely recommend this product!

Excellent. Bought this to replace my GHD, which gave up after 15yrs of hard labour (RIP). Superb value for money. Adjustable temperature is an improvement on the GHD.

Love love love this. So quick and easy to use and effective. Highly recommend. My hair is poker straight in no time, no tugging or breaking and it stays straight and glossy all day even in hot humid tropical weather. Remington really knows what they're about

Mejor de lo que me esperaba,palncha rápido y muy bien,personalmente tengo el pelo ondulado y en apenas 5 minutos me deja el pelo super liso

J'avais dû mal à croire aux 2 passages uniques pour lisser. Et bien c'est véridique. Tout ça à 190º. Sans brushing, au sèche-cheveux, c'est Jackson 5 direct donc il me fallait un lisseur qui fasse le taff surtout sur cheveux frisés et sans les rendre encore plus secs. Et bien il lisse au point d'avoir des baguettes si je fais 2 passages ou si j'augmente la température. Souhaitant avoir une belle longueur mais ne les voyant pas pousser, boucles oblige, je voulais les lisser pour ne pas perdre espoir et recouper pour un carré mais surtout ne pas y passer 1h à chaque lissage. C'est chose faite avec ce lisseur. Gain de temps incroyable. D'autre part, j'ai les cheveux blancs naturels qui jaunissent à cause de la chaleur. Mon ancien lisseur du moyen-âge ne chauffait plus assez donc je devais faire 1000 passages sans effet lissé souhaité et le cheveu redevenait jaune clair alors qu'il venait d'être soigné justement pour enlever ces vilains reflets. Ce que j'ai toujours trouvé moche avec le lisseur, ce sont les pointes ultra raides et sèches qui trahissaient un cheveu bouclé. Et bien ce n'est pas le cas avec ce lisseur et surtouuuut, il vient à bout des bouclettes de baby cheveux autour du visage, impossibles à lisser car courts et rebelles. Pas besoin de claquer 3 smics pour un lisseur. Des soins, c'est la base!
